Our main campus student centers and dining halls are all brand new and renovated which give a nice vibe for students.

They give 100% of demonstrated need in financial aid and also give scholarships but I've found that sometimes this is still not enough.

Most computer labs have Macs that run both windows and mac programs.

Guys & Girls:
There is someone for everyone here, some kids date and some hookup, its all about meeting the right person. Mostly people here are just interested in meeting friends, friends with benefits are popular too.

Like any school, drugs are available the select few that seek them out. Some kids smoke pot but that is pretty much it. There are plenty of people who go out and don't drink, and people don't care and respect that.

They hand out parking tickets like hot cakes. As you get older, the parking gets better but it is all shades of good. As long as you park in your designated zone, even if its far, you wont get a ticket.

I dont know anything about the scholarship process here.

Very, very good food. SOOO many options, you can be as healthy or as unhealthy as you want. There is always something good available. Kids love the taste of nashville program.

Within reason, you can do anything at Vanderbilt.

Four mild seasons, doesn't turn into cold winter until just before finals.

Freshman Commons is beautiful, but upperclassman housing is a step down.
College Sophomore 2013-11-06T21:19:39Z
Vanderbilt is the best choice I've ever made. Its balance between social and academic excellence is unique and unbeatable.
College Sophomore 2013-11-06T21:18:29Z
Most kids live off campus senior year if at all. A lot of good popular options that everyone knows about by the time they are seniors.
College Sophomore 2013-11-06T21:17:06Z
Everyone uses laptops, tech support is easy to get and their are printers all over campus that you can charge straight to your student account. Most assignments are online.

Nashville is amazing for night life. Students usually start the night on greek row and then go to bars in midtown or downtown. Never boring, so many options, so much fun. Everyone needs a good fake ID.
College Sophomore 2013-11-06T21:14:02Z
Even if we don't win, the whole school is booming with school spirit and supports the teams. You can feel it the minute you step on campus, this spirit driven by athletics gives Vanderbilt the edge on other top liberal arts colleges without D1 sports. SEC in the south, enough said.
College Sophomore 2013-11-06T21:12:08Z
Unbeatable campus. Everything is beautiful and state of the art. Facilities make anything possible at Vandy, you get what you pay for and then some.
College Sophomore 2013-11-06T21:10:47Z
Its nice to have a car here but not necessary, Vandy vans and zipcars are the way to go freshman year, then bring a car your 2nd year.
College Sophomore 2013-11-06T21:09:25Z
The best greek life you'll get at a top twenty school. Fun parties, people go out at least 3-4 nights a week. Parties feel safe and fun, never short on alcohol or good music. Top tier frats and sororities only hangout with each other, and most non greeks are social awkward or international kids.

Health & Safety:
If you take advantage of all of the resources Vanderbilt offers, everyone should feel safe here. Although there are a few sketchy people in areas close to campus, you never see or hear of anything happening on campus itself. Don't walk alone at night, don't be in parking structures alone at night. Student health is amazing, and you have close access to one of the best hospitals in the country.
College Freshman 2013-11-04T22:46:30Z
Nashville is a great place to live, a lot going on and off campus.
College Freshman 2013-11-04T22:45:25Z
Campus dining is quite good, and if the traditional cafeterias aren't for you, there are plenty of other ways you can use your meal plan.
College Freshman 2013-11-04T22:44:18Z
Alcohol usage is very prevalent, drugs are also apparent too. You can definitely avoid it if you want to though.
College Freshman 2013-11-04T22:43:03Z
The Commons have beautiful dorms. Housing does go down after freshman year, but the new dorms at Kissam should make high quality housing available for sophomores, juniors, and seniors as well.
College Freshman 2013-11-04T22:41:49Z
Greek life here is very prevalent. About 50% of girls are in a sorority and 30% of guys in a fraternity. Frat parties dominant weekend activities. You aren't socially excluded for being in a frat or sorority, but there is less connection to the party scene.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
