College Prowler Take
Other than dinner at Rand, students are very positive about the quality of the food. Fortunately, there are so many other choices on most days that it is hard not to find something you like. But, on-campus weekend dining options are extremely limited. Vanderbilt has recently overhauled its meal plan system, which gives students a great deal more flexibility in their food options. However, despite the high quality and selection of what is available, the prices are ridiculously inflated, and there isn’t a grocery store within walking distance—the cost of living is very high within the “Vanderbubble.”

The dining here is just plain awful. If you have allergies, don't be convinced by the 'allergy accomodations.' Honestly, nearly everytime I eat at the dining hall I get sick. If you're a celiac especially, you may want to try somewhere else first or ask them about exempting you from the meal plan. I've been asking for months, and hopefully next semester goes better. **knock on wood**

If you have a car, or know someone who does, definitely stock up at one of the local markets because, with the possible exception of Chancellor Gee, it’s not suitable for anyone to spend 20 bucks for two boxes of fruit loops and a half-gallon of milk. |

Food is pretty good; the dining hall has a really wide selection, so you can pretty much find whatever you want. There are Munchi-Marts, or mini-grocery stores, in every dorm to buy snacks. |

The food in the main dining hall,...
The food in the main dining hall, Rand, is actually not that bad, but we eat it so much freshman year that everybody thinks that it’s bad. My favorite lunch spot is Stonehenge Deli, and the Pub is great for late-night snacks and stuff. Rand Dining Hall is basically a good place for socializing. |
