College Prowler Take
Vandy’s stance on strictness can be summed up by one freshman RA, who, when asked about his enforcement policies simply said, “be reasonable.” The University does a tremendous job of allowing students to alleviate their stress or repression in an environment where Vandy students can have a good time. Still, they can easily get help if they need it. For the most part, Vandy Police, in particular the VUPD Officers assigned to Greek Row, exist as a form of formal crowd control and will not step in unless things get really out of control.
Campus strictness will be on the rise, as Vanderbilt has made it very clear that it intends to crack down. Certainly, the days of standing on a frat house balcony and raising your glass to passing VUPD has passed, but it is not clear to what extent things will change.

The administration is strict about drinking in freshman dorms, but everywhere else is not strict. The police are becoming informed every day as to drugs on campus, and they are taking measures to stop drug abuse. |
