Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

There are a large number of good restaurants in close proximity to Vanderbilt. Maybe it has something to do with the zoning of the city, but it seems like Vanderbilt lies in a very highly concentrated restaurant area of Nashville. In every style and price range, you will find something within walking distance or a short cab ride.

The selection certainly exists in the city; it is only a question of the depth. There aren’t dozens of excellent places to eat for every genre of food, but excellent places do exist. This means that it is very important to make reservations, or you will find yourself standing in line holding one of those silly pagers.

Off Campus Dining

Off campus dining is awesome. There's a lot of chain restaurants within walking distance of campus and a decent amount of local ones as well. Many of them participate in Taste of Nashville and can be paid for on the Commodore Card.

Plenty of Places to Eat, on the Card as Well.

There's plenty of places to eat off-campus which are on the card as well. A program Vanderbilt University has set up called Tastes in Nashville partners with different restaurants. Each semester, freshman students are allotted $200 in meal money which can be used for ordering online delivery take-out or for going to the different restaurants to eat.
