College Prowler Take

The Office of Traffic and Parking sees the students as a source of income. Parking is much more expensive than it should be, and they will not hesitate to write you a ticket or tow your car should you not be in the spot they assigned you. To add insult to injury, they will find a spot for your car in the garage that is geographically farthest away from where your dorm is.

The main thing to remember is that nobody is forcing you to bring a car, and at a school that is as self-contained as Vanderbilt, there is really no need for one. High parking rates are just part of the package if you decide to bring your car to school; there’s no way around it.

Parking is a bit of a problem, since Vanderbilt’s campus is in the middle of Nashville. There are places to park that are far away, however.

Vandy has a bunch of parking lots and garages, but somehow they manage to make it impossible to get a reserved spot anywhere remotely close to where you live.

Parking sucks, it’s expensive, and freshmen aren’t supposed to have cars anyway. I brought one second semester of freshman year because I only live an hour from campus. I’d say don’t bring one. They’re pretty strict on towing.

Parking is way too expensive, and it is impossible to park because there are too many cars and too few spots.

Parking can be a real pain, and it’s expensive. The older you get, the better the parking prices get, but you still have to fight for a place.
