Great need-based aid; merit-based is difficult

I recieved a merit scholarship however it was very small. I recieve 5k a year when at many other schools for my accomplishment I was offered a full ride plus an annual stipend, but obviously I chose Vanderbilt. In terms of financial aid, Vanderbilt is pretty good at supplying what you need, however, as is the case with many schools, it's easier for low-income families to get the support they need instead of middle-income ones.

Vanderbilt usually is known for giving out incredibly generous financial aid

They give 100% of demonstrated need in financial aid and also give scholarships but I've found that sometimes this is still not enough.
