Process Is Easy and Administrators Love to Help

Financial aid is based on need at Vassar and as long as oh demonstrate the need, you will see major help. A nice thing about Vassar's policy is that if your family makes under a certain amount they don't add a loan to your package. Instead they supplement it with more scholarship money. If you're having problems paying your contribution sometimes the financial aid officers can help find extra grant money to help you out but you have to be willin to ask. Everyone in the office is nice and willing to help tithe best of their ability.

Need Blind

Vassar does not consider FA in its admissions decisions, leading to over 70% of Vassar students being on FA.

I had no idea who was and who wasn't on Financial Aid, which was so nice because it creates an egalitarian feel. No one is priveledged in that sense, and Vassar is so generous in giving that basically everyone who gets in can afford going.

Even friends who've had trouble as the school year progressed, the school will change its agreement to accomodate students so they can stay. They really do care and this is a huge part of their committment.
