Villa Maria would be nothing without the students who go there. The students make going through all the hassles worth it.
College Senior 2013-10-29T03:15:26Z
Villa Maria doesn't offer an online courses. They barely offer summer courses.

I'm not really sure. I've made all of my connections by myself outside of school by going to events and shows. A lot of businesses dislike Villa Maria because of the faculty that is in charge of internships, works in the career/alumni center, etc.

There is very limited flexibility because the school is so small. However if you talk with your advisor they can usually help you out.

Villa Maria is like a glorified high school, but in a good way. It's mainly a music and art school so most of the students have alike personalities. The fashion and physical therapy students stick out a lot. Most of them only talk to people within in their major, they're definitely the outcasts. All of the other majors talk to each other, there's a lot of diversity at the school. I would say that the music students are definitely the most accepting of others.

Everything dealing with technology is extremely slow at the school. We don't receive many upgrades at all. I think after 4 years they finally fixed the wifi, it doesn't seem to be down as much as it used to.
College Senior 2013-10-29T03:07:08Z
There isn't much offered at the school. Most of the students spend their free time in the cafeteria because it's the only place where you don't disrupt other classes and a large amount of people can fit in there. We have a gym, I don't think there's a weight room, there's a pool that's never open. All of the athletic rooms listed above close sometime between 4:00 and 6:00. Our college doesn't have the funding to do many campus activities.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
It costs a lot to attend Villa Maria College. With all of the money spent on tuition a lot of the students wonder where all that money goes. There are parts of the building where the roof is leaking and buckets are left to catch the dripping water, it's been like this for over 4 years now. I think with the amount of money that students spend to go to the college, we should have much better facilities.

Music students are the type that like to work on projects over an extended period of time versus getting an assignment and having it due by the next class. I personally like the more hands on type of classes that require a lot of outside work, such as Event Production and Promotion. I wish we had better facilities but for a private college that works off of donations, we're slowly getting there. I wish we had state funding, but we try our best with what we have.

Our college listens to the students as far as professors go. The students make their voice heard whenever there is a professor who is terrible at their job, some have been fired. I dislike the course offering for the school, a lot of the classes get cancelled because there aren't enough students who sign up. This really irritates me when it comes to electives. I believe that if I'm paying to take these courses, I would like to take classes that I'm actually interested in versus what's available/being offered. I believe Villa Maria only has about 500-600 students, which makes everything difficult. I also have an issue with the registrar of my school. I needed to drop a class due to the medical issues I was having. The registrar refused to give me a slip until I told her what was going on, this was completely wrong. It is my personal medical business that she didn't need to know.

I dislike the course offering at Villa Maria College, I'm actually going to a community college and transferring my credits so I can graduate on time. However, the people at the college are some of the best people I've ever met in my life. Most of the students agree that the people are what keep them at the college.

Physical Therapy Assistant major at Villa Maria offers a lot of opportunities through the clinical rotations.

The campus isn't really that big, it is a small private school. The library is decent and there are some activities going on throughout the campus every now and then. There are some sports but none that really interest me.
College Junior 2013-07-31T15:26:45Z
There are a few computer labs with quite a few computers and the library has computers. They set me up with wifi and internet access when I went to orientation and it seemed to be working fine.

The unique opportunities at my school are the clinical rotations. You can't just learn through a text book and then be sent out to find a job. You have to learn on the job. So this will be very helpful and a great opportunity. Villa Maria offers clubs and some sports, but I probably won't be involved in them. My program is small so I will get to know my classmates better and it will help me learn more.

I have attended Fredonia State College and Erie Community College south campus and this fall I will be attending Villa Maria College. So I have no technically been to this school yet. However, I have met some of the professors and they seem really nice and seem to care about the students. My program only has about 22 students so the teachers can give more one-on-one help. Class registration was very easy because I went in and someone made my schedule for me. The thing I didn't like about it though is that you don't really have much of a say in what classes you want, they basically just give you a schedule and ask if it is ok. Even though I haven't started yet, I know I will have 4 clinical rotations throughout the 2 years I am attending school. I am very excited to go to Villa Maria.

Computer labs are good, wireless access very good, library is good

The gym is outdated and small. I am an older student and there seems to be little activities to get involved in.
College Senior 2013-04-11T17:48:18Z
I actually don't know much about them because I have never taken one.

Graphic design classes are very relevant to the professional world, with lots of opportunities to gain experience in the real world through unique projects that are hands-on. The classes are small, and computers are fully equipped with all the programs you've ever dreamed of. Great experiences and down-to-earth teaching with valuable and helpful professors.
College Senior 2013-04-11T17:39:02Z
Professors are very accessible and willing to help. The workload can get very hectic, depending on how many classes you are taking. Time management is absolutely necessary if you want to have any time outside of school to have a life.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
It is quite a bit pricey, and was originally out of my price range. But with financial aid, it is quite manageable. The education is well worth the price, though. Very relevant and applicable to the real world!

Tuition & Financial Aid:
It's a little pricey, but it's an excellent education. They really do help you try to get funding and financial assistance to help cover things.
College Senior 2013-02-28T15:24:36Z
The weight room and exercise room have limited equipment; we have a pool but it's seldom open, even though high schools come and use it; but the student center does have a gym, pool table, ping pong table. The Bistro (dining hall) has pretty good food; it's a little pricey for some things, but they give you $50 for it if you're full time. The library is really good for studying, computer use, and research, and the librarian here is great. There's always places to hang out and students to hang out with, whether for relaxing or for studying, and there are a wide variety of activities and clubs to keep you busy!
College Senior 2013-02-28T15:20:06Z
Computer labs and computers here are excellent, wireless access and internet speeds are great, and you can always connect a laptop to the system, too. There is computer services available if there's a problem, too.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
