Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Walk around for five minutes, and there is no doubt that the overwhelming majority of students on campus are hot. With an almost perfect balance of male and female students, there is always someone out there you haven’t met. Overall, the campus is well dressed year round, which can be a good and bad thing. In either case, both sexes are just an added benefit of going to the school.

Most guys and girls here are intelligent, caring people who are nice and fun to be around. Whether you’re coming to Villanova in search of a special someone or just a hookup on the weekend, there is a roughly even balance between both. While there are other schools in the area that offer new faces outside Villanova, it’s often difficult for underclassmen to go to events or places that offer this. Based on this and the fact that the University is the largest in the area, most relationships past freshman year are restricted to campus. However, some take their chances at UPenn for a weekend of fun and just something to do outside Villanova’s campus.

Nicely Dressed and Nice Personalities

Most of the students at Villanova not only dress very nicely but are also really nice people. A lot of students came from private, Catholic high schools so they usually have a abundance of dress clothes left over form their high school. Some students dress very "preppy" but most dress in a way that I would call "respectful". Many students are somewhat reserved socially (especially Freshmen) so it is hard to get to know how nice they are at first. As time goes on, students get to know a lot more people on campus and they will realize how friendly Villanova really is.

J. Crew Models

The majority of Villanova students are extremely socially conscious, meaning they take time to dress up for class more so than most schools. There's also a large Greek life community that fuels the social scene, particularity for underclassmen.

Facts

Social Scene

The social scene at Villanova is prevalent, and there’s always something going on. Students are friendly and most are open to meeting new people. Every kind of personality will find a place at Villanova, including the art crowd, people into the music scene, students looking for substance-free programs, and fraternity boys and sorority girls. There’s something for everyone.

Hookups or Relationships?

There’s a balance between students hooking up and those in relationships. If you’re looking for a hookup, there’s definitely one to be found—it is college after all. Because of Villanova’s traditional values, though, dating and relationships make up a healthy portion, as well. Most freshmen tend to be involved in long-distance relationships at first, but this all usually changes by second semester. There seems to be something to suit most everyone’s lifestyle at Villanova if you’re willing to look.

Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls

The best place to meet members of the opposite sex range from parties to class. Villanova’s small enough that if someone catches your eye, chances are one of your friends either knows them or know who they are. Also, because class sizes are small, most students get to know one another through class and class projects. Parties are a good way to meet a lot of people too and are definitely the most popular way to meet that special someone.

Dress Code

Villanova is hugely preppy. From Sperry topsiders to North Face fleeces, Villanova has earned the nickname “J.Crew U.” This is mostly true—it is definitely the most popular style on campus—but you can also find budding, cutting-edge fashionistas, hippies, skaters, and everything else under the sun
