Tips to Succeed

  • Get involved. There are so many campus activities and opportunities to meet fellow Villanovans that this is really the best way to have a thriving social life.
  • Go to class regularly. As a freshman there is a strict attendance policy—you can miss no more than twice the number of classes per week. After freshman year, it’s all up to you, but if your professor takes the time to assign an attendance policy it is obviously in your best interest to follow it.
  • Take advantage of professors' office hours. It’s the best way to get ahead and get the help you need to get good grades at Villanova.

Urban Legends

  • Some say that there’s a ghost that haunts St. Mary’s Hall because a nun had an affair with a priest and hung herself in the chapter. While St. Mary’s is old and there are certainly some out of the ordinary happenings once in a while, it doesn’t seem to be true

Traditions

  • The Augustinian Army - Intense student section at basketball games.
  • Throwing your V’s up - Making the peace sign to the beat of the fight song.

There’s a ton of school spirit because students are so proud to attend this wonderful school and it doesn’t hurt that 'Nove consistently has one of the best basketball teams in the country. Go ‘cats go!
