College Prowler Take
With more than 32,000 students at VCU, there has to be someone to suit your taste. Because the student body is so diverse, who’s hot and who’s not changes with every group of students you ask. Statistically, there are more girls than guys at VCU, but that never seems to get in the way of girls finding someone to hook up with. Students aren’t always looking for someone of the opposite sex either, which seems to balance out the male-to-female ratio.
Students on campus dress and look however they feel most comfortable. Sweatpants and a T-shirt are as normal as dresses and high-heeled shoes. Whatever the case, there is usually a difference in how students dress on campus when they’re going out to impress! Since VCU eliminated the opposite sex rule in dorms, there are bound to be more hook-ups, though that rule seemed to be lightly enforced long before it was removed. While VCU doesn’t encourage random hooking up, the Student Health Center sells condoms for a nominal fee, as do the convenience stores on campus. It’s important to realize that VCU students decide whether they want to hook up or have a relationship with another student on campus, and VCU just wants them to be safe about it. Better safe than sorry!

Facts
Birth Control Available?
Yes - Yes, condoms are available at the health center.
Social Scene
Students at VCU are generally loud and outgoing. On nice days, you see students spread out all over campus tossing the football or laying out on a blanket. Classmates are often a source for friends and people to go out with. It’s not hard to meet a friend for life with all of the different ways to meet.
Hookups or Relationships?
Weekends at VCU are meant for partying and hooking up.
It’s not uncommon to go out one weekend and see people
making out with one person and then seeing them the next week with a completely different person. It’s college! But don’t count out the couples. There are plenty of students on campus holding hands and giving each other puppy-dog looks. Whatever you want, you can generally find here.
Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls
Since VCU is the biggest school in Virginia, there are plenty of ways to meet people. Students are always wandering around the dorms and being introduced to others through mutual friends. Flirting also goes on between students in classes or during a workout in the gym. If there’s no chemistry in any
of those places, then there’s always a chance you will meet someone at bars and clubs.
Dress Code
VCU is too diverse to pick any one style that is most popular. From punk to preppy or vintage to urban, students at VCU dress the way that best represents themselves. Don’t be shocked if you see a student walking down the street in Sponge Bob pajama pants or coming to class in a suit before they have to go to work.
