Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Because of the dislike of on-campus dining, many students find themselves spending their money at some of the best restaurants the city has to offer. No matter what you may be in the mood for, there is always a place to satisfy your every craving. You can get pizza, burgers, and subs, or you can get Thai, Indian, Italian, or vegetarian food, all within a few blocks of campus. Several cafés are located throughout the Fan district and are often good places to grab lunch while preparing for your next class.

Because there are so many places to eat, not one place is the same. There are, of course, your chain pizza stores
like Domino’s and Pizza Hut, but for something that tastes better and isn’t any more expensive, try Piccola or Assante’s. They both deliver. Chinese restaurants seem to come and go around campus, but Evergreen, which is located behind the dorms, seems to be a staple food for many of the students who live in the dorms. Carytown offers a ton of great restaurants for students, including Nacho Mama’s and Galaxy Diner. And don’t forget dessert! Coldstone under Ramz Hall is a student favorite for all things ice cream and is packed with students on hot days and nights.

Off Campus Dinning

I think it gives a good amount of options. There are a lot of small restaurant places that you can go and its not all the same type of food.

Healthy Options

Cary street is a great place to go out and get a bite to eat or a drink. Also in the fan area, I love Kitchen 64. There are plenty of vegetarian options throughout Richmond, and I love that the city has a healthy vibe to it.

Food Joints Around VCU

There are many excellent off-campus dining opportunities around VCU, some of which include Galaxy Diner, Carytown Burgers and Fries, and of course fast food restaurants. Galaxy Diner alone is worth the grade of A. If you come to VCU, don't worry, you will have plenty of wonderful off-campus dining options!
