Virginia Tech Overall Experience had a new discussion posted by saleharana

Just started my senior year-- So far, I have a weighted 4.0 GPA (not sure of unweighted at the moment), SAT score 1720 (retaking), ACT score 24 (retaking), i have almost 200 hours of volunteer service, i am/have been a member of 6 different clubs (NHS, FEA, MSA, Medical Explorers, Change for Charity, Youth Advisory Council) both in and out of school, i'm a swimmer-- but i never actually joined the swim team at school so i don't know if that counts for anything, i'm not sure of my class rank yet, but i'm sure it isn't very high because i attend a very competitive high school, i've taken 5 ap classes throughout highschool. My interest is in medicine, but i'm still keeping my options open. VT is my top choice college! What do you think about my chances of getting into VT?

You'll get in definitely. They only look at GPA and SAT since it's such a big school. You have above the average for both.

You have a very good chance of getting in. Between a strong GPA, good SAT scores, and plenty of extracurricular activities, it would be hard to reject your resume.

Don't sweat it, you'll get in. Virginia Tech is a huge school and with your records you'll have no problem getting in. I would even suggets joining the honors program
