The average student at Wagner is someone who likes to have fun but also knows how to get down to business when there's work to do. They are generally interested in the arts, and music is a big part of campus life. Most Wagner students here are liberal, although there is a larger conservative contingent here than at other colleges. Wagner students are generally very tolerant of each other and other's beliefs, and they strive to build an accepting and friendly community.

There are more girls than guys at Wagner, which can present a problem in the dating aspect of college life. Another problem for straight women at Wagner is that there is a large gay population, which makes it difficult to find someone to date on campus. However, since New York City is a big place, there are other spots to find someone if you're so inclined. This may seem discouraging, but it's also easy to stay positive if you're looking for love since the city is just a ferry ride away. The students here are not promiscuous, but they're not exactly reserved, either—they fall somewhere in between. There are some students who prefer to go to parties and hook up with other people, and there are others who prefer to avoid that. Just like at any school, there are students from both groups.
