Students at Wake Forest are very motivated and strive to be successful. This certainly extends to physical appearance. A common myth is that the admissions committee considers your physical appearance when considering your application—you are required to send a picture with your application. Nonetheless, students care about how they dress and how they look. Thus, as a whole, Wake Forest has a very good-looking student body.

The average student at Wake Forest is from the East Coast and could be best described as upper-middle class. Most students are also preppy in the way that they dress, and polo shirts are common on campus. Despite this, students tend to be very friendly and social. Of course, students who stray from these "norms" certainly exist and add to the eclectic fabric that is Wake Forest student life.

Good Looking Campus

Wake Forest University is a pretty good looking campus. Although it is situated in North Carolina, there are people from all over the country and even the world. However, there are a decent amount of Southerners who have varying levels of Southern accents, which might take getting used to. As far as dress goes, a lot of people dress in Polo and pastels, especially when going to tailgate at football games.

Everyone Is Relatively Attractive

There really aren't any overweight people, everyone dresses nicely and on a scale of 1 to 10 - I have yet to see someone under a 5 with the average probably at a 7.5. Girls are treated like gold, especially at frats. Southern gentlemen are abundant.

Social Scene

Wake Forest students tend to be extremely outgoing and friendly. During freshman and sophomore years, Greek life is dominant. However, the parties are largely open, and depending on what you are interested in, other social options are there. By the time they reach junior and senior years, students begin to frequent bars in downtown Winston-Salem.

Hookups or Relationships?

Both hookups and relationships exist at Wake Forest. However, it seems like people who are in relationships are in very serious relationships. A middle ground between these two extremes is difficult to find.

Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls

At the risk of being redundant, the best places to meet guys and girls are frats, frats, frats, and frats. While there are other colleges around, they generally come to Wake to party. Most students don't really bother hitting the bars to find non-WFU people. Of course, plenty of people will meet in various social groups and clubs, as well as in class.

Dress Code

Students at Wake Forest tend to be very preppy in the way that they dress. Polos and khakis are ubiquitous on campus. Some students even dress up in more formal attire to go to class. This is especially apparent at football games, when many guys wear shirts and ties, and girls wear sun dresses.
