College Prowler Take
Apparently, a Winston-Salem city bus line has a stop somewhere on campus. Walking past that stop is about as much contact as you will ever have with public transportation while at Wake Forest. In this city, you need a car, you will love your car, and in turn, your friends will love you for it. The only reasonable way to get anywhere here is by car. While there are buses, no one ever uses them, and they run fairly infrequently. Students recommend using Willard’s taxi service if you need public transportation, which costs only five dollars for up to 10 miles. They accept Deacon Dollars. You don’t necessarily need a car yourself, so don’t feel pressured to go out and pick one up out of necessity. Odds are, if you don’t have one, your roommate will. If in the extreme case neither of you can drive, several people on your hall will. It isn’t difficult to travel around Winston, even if you don’t have a car. Learn to bum rides off your friends, it’s an all too valuable skill around here.

We have cabs. I don’t use them much, but they’re good for going to bars or something. |

I don’t really know about public transportation, although I do think there is a public bus that runs through campus. We take taxis a lot, and you can put them on your Deacon Dollars, which is the same as your meal card. |

There are cabs that accept Deacon...
There are cabs that accept Deacon Dollars, which is a huge help for kids trying to get to parties off campus that do not have money, especially since most college kids are dirt poor. There is RIDE, which works at nights and takes people around campus and to off-campus parking as well. |

I know nothing about public...
I know nothing about public transportation. I do know that if you need to get off campus for something, make friends with someone with a car on campus. It’s not hard. You won’t need much off campus, really. If you do, I guarantee you will not have trouble finding a way to get there. |
