Very good school so far. I'm attending the online graduate program for the first time so I'm new to the school.

Walden is average but I think they prolong your stay in order to get more money when you are in the doctoral program.

I feel that the instructors are not as helpful as they could be.

Walden is convenient for older students who have families.

The professors are awesome. I'm a Business Administration major in my junior year; and since I've been in this school, I've have gained so much knowledge.

I am a Computer Information Systems major. I have a self-designed course load. I got to choose what classes are most important to me and most useful in helping me achieve my goals. This 'self-designed' course load is something i could not find in several other potential schools. My program will help me run a better business, build a better website, be a more effective leader and understand and embrace changes when they need to happen. As for my workload, It is heavy. The heavy workload is only a test of our stamina and willingness to work. Anything less would be too easy.

The online courses offered at Walden University are just as good, if not better than those offered on a traditional campus. Since i am working at my own pace ( within the constraints of the class schedule) and on my own time, I am able to do my personal research , I can ask more in depth questions, and i can do all of this any time of the day or night. My on-campus experience ( when i was 16) was not the same. I was nervous, shy and felt out of place. At Walden, I feel free to question, speak up and do my best. This online experience seems tailor made just for me.

The student body at Walden University is very diverse. We have students from all over the world, working in all fields and from all economic backgrounds. Thankfully, the faculty is also diverse. Diversity breads understanding and an openness towards others. Walden University is the place to be, if you want to be a part of the ever changing world we live in.

My academic experience at Walden has been surprising. Before i enrolled, I thought that an online school would be considerably easier than the traditional campus experience. I was wrong. Walden University has offered my a wide variety of very challenging courses. I have had to focus my attention and put all my effort into succeeding with a GPA that i can be proud of. The professors have real-world knowledge of the subject they teach. I do see that our professors can get a bit detached from the students, but i realize that they teach several classes and they often teach at more than one school. That is when the student aids step in to help us with our individual course issues.
Walden University was the best choice i've made in many years. I would recommend this school to everyone.

Walden University has a thriving online school community. We have more resources than i know what to do with. There are tutors for every course, automatically assigned to each class. They are there to help us day and night with any questions we might have. There are workshops to help students prepare for future employment and the rigors of everyday life. We are kept abreast and encouraged to become a part of current events around the world. The Walden Library is fully stocked with resources we need to do the best research possible. As for the general campus aesthetics, in the three+ years that i have been a student at Walden, I have seen the online campus revamped at least three times and always for the better. Walden University displays consistent dedication to ease of use ( for the students) as well as the highest academic standards.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The Financial Aid process at Walden University is one of the easiest. I had no trouble getting the loans and grants that i needed to start college again. It is only now ( in my last year) , that i see my financial aid running out. Being a single parent without income right now, i am getting a bit nervous about how to make ends meet while in school. Since Walden has gone out of their way to get me into school , I will go out of my to find the finances to stay.

I had taken CLEP tests in the 90's for classes like Spanish, History and algebra. I also had some credits to transfer from a college that i attended when i was 16 years old. The transfer of credits from one school to another was fairly simple , but the CLEP tests took a bit longer to transfer. I was thankful that any of those credits were honored by my new college ( Walden University ). I am a 37 year old returning student. Since these credits were over 15 years old, i was just glad that they were still transferable. Some of my credits did not transfer, but for the opportunity to get back into school, i accepted that.

Academic and career advisers are very involved. They keep in touch with you regularly even after you complete the admission process.

Student Library is excellent! Resources are easily available including links to Grammarly and other programs that help with your writing projects. The research library access is very eclectic.

The professors seem to have a very strict position on student relationships and expectations. There is not much communication, besides what is mentioned in the syllabus. The workload is heavy, with many assignments each week. However, you do have a week to complete each assignment. The registration process is really easy and the enrollment advisors are great at keeping in touch. There are several study groups, online chats, and tutoring sessions.

I am working towards a major in Psychology. My future carreer will be geared towards psychology and young children. This school allows me to not only get my degree, but to have an extra concentration on the subject of my choice. I am able to get a psychology degree, with a concentration on child development. I love that my college is able to do that for me. The course work is challenging, but it is exactly what I need.

I love how flexible my school is with my class schedule. I take classes all online, because it is the only way I can fit school into my busy schedule. I attended other colleges before settling into this one and I could never find the right school for my schedule. Unfortunately, many of my credits did not transfer, so that put me behind a bit. I have had a few setbacks, but I think this is the school for me.

The main reason I chose Walden is the online opportunity and the doctoral program. I have to work and attending classes online work for me.

It would be wonderful to have more scholarships available for public health students.

The course workload is high, and requires a great deal of discipline if student's want to succeed. It is not a problem for me, as I do not currently work due to disability, but the weekly assignment workload is challenging for students who work, or have a family. There is some flexibility, as far as how often you must log into class, students have the entire week to complete assignments by their due dates, and how many peer responses are required per week. We are currently using blackboard, which has just been updated to make it more user friendly. There is typically excellent professor-student relationships, most professors highly participate in discussions, they provide excellent feedback for improvement, and there is a lot of peer interaction occurring on a weekly basis throughout a course. It is difficult to form peer social relationships, which is one thing that is particularly challenging in an online setting. Lack of face-to-face interaction is the one thing that is missing in online settings, but the opportunity to attend college online compensates for the personal challenges that people may face if they could only attend a traditional campus.
