I selected this school because of the academic flexibility that comes along with online learning. I've found it frustrating in meeting the goals of the doctoral study that is essential for completing the program. The left hand never seems to know what the right hand is doing. The writing center and professors do not seem to be on the same page as to the paper's requirements.

The campus seems to have several online resources for students.

Most of the students in the BSN program are not very intelligent. I am not sure how they ever got through nursing school when they cannot spell.

Some of the professors are very nice and some of them are horrible. The curriculum is all the same. Read these pages, do the discussion board and write a paper. The entire curriculum is based on writing papers.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The tuition is very expensive. I just found out that my FAFSA requires me to verify my taxes. The university never contacted me and let me know they needed additional information. My financial aid has just been sitting there for two months with nothing being done on it. Would it have been so hard for Walden to send me an email letting me know they needed more information? I came across the information by accident when I was looking at my tuition. This two month delay probably made me lose out on some financial aid.

The class work is all writing papers. I do not mind writing papers, however; it would be nice to have a class or two where you just read your book and take exams. Writing paper, after paper, after paper is boring, and I do not feel I have learned anything new yet.

I had a very good experience, so far, with Walden University. From the initial advisor to the current professor, they have all been helpful and knowledgeable.

The network ability and faculty access has been great. I feel if I need help, that it is as readily available as if I was at a campus.

I am enjoying the opportunity to be able to continue my education. With work and family, I wouldn't be able to go to school without the flexibility of the online programs.

The ability to work around work and only have to concentrate on one subject at a time. The faculty in all the areas have been very fantastic and supportive!

I find that the librarians, academic advisors, and most of the faculty are helpful with research and career services. I have attended traditional brick-and-mortar institutions in the past and have found great accessibility to help I have needed.

I love the freedom that exists for students at Walden. I have met some of the instructors and other students that participate in the program and there are many opportunities to network. I believe the curriculum is tailored so that students are stewards to their own success. There is help along the way just in case you get stuck.

I have never experienced a problem with the network since it is an online learning institution. If I experience a problem, it's usually with my own equipment.

online differs from the traditional classroom experience because you must be a self-starter. There are no reminders that your assignments are due on specific days. If there is a problem with a thread, you must notify the teacher, most times, other students will not. If you do not understand an assignment you must initiate a conference with the teacher which could end-up happening two to three days later. There are no immediate responses to your questions. In on-line school the student is definitely their own teacher. How much you learn is based-on how much you read.

I never spoke to my assigned academic advisor, he or she was never available

Tuition & Financial Aid:
You must be a self-starter. No one will notify you when your awards must be signed, so stay alert and check your portal very often.

There are a lot of resources for career development, the only setback is locating the correct person over your specific program

Walden is constantly giving out information about job networking.

Walden was very helpful in explaining the process.

Each class has the same deadlines so you always know when thing will be due from the very first class to the very last class.

They are very helpful in developing your professional paperwork. They have several resources available and actively make sure that students are aware of them.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Financial aid does not cover all 4 quarts of school, therefore I had to pay out of pocket for the 4th quarter which posed some challenge for me.

Professors are very dedicated to making your learning experience valuable and useful. They are very understanding and willing to work with you. Online courses allow the student to complete coursework on their terms and allows for me to work a full time job. Overall, the coursework has been very useful to me and for my future of becoming a psychotherapist.

The main reason I chose this school is because its online. However, it does take a bit of time to get used to navigating the multiple online resources.

The library and resource centers are amazing. The writing center is a good place for you to be able to submit papers and assignments and get feedback from peers.
