I feel your pain. I have maxed out mine as well. I was 1 year away from completing my 1st B.S. degree. Being maxed out for Pell Grant and Student Loans really hinders people like us. I am trying very hard not to give up on this dream, but it is very hard at this point. Jouli B.
I am sorry Jouli, I was so excited when I received my Associates in 2011. I wanted to continue on to get my Masters. I really didn't understand that I would max out so soon. I wish I had went after the 4 year degree first. I know with my credit there is no way a private lender will loan me any money. I am a Junior and would be finished in 2014. I am just applying for fastweb.com and scholarships.com. Praying hard for a miracle. I wish you the best.
I wish you the best as well. I am sure we are not the only ones going through this. I wish we could write someone about it. If enough people stated they are in this crisis and that our financial well-being depends on us finishing our degrees, then maybe something could be done about it. I have no clue where to start the process. I read some colleges/universities offer "Emergency Loans" for situations such as these. I called Walden Uni about it and they said "Nope." I can't help wonder are we over looking resources somewhere??? I have $20,000 to come up with. Do you have the same amount too? Jouli.
Well, I would guess that I am about that short maybe a little bit more, even this year each quarter I am 149.00 short, so there goes my refunds. Those really were nice. Walden doesn't even offer scholarships, but every year they raise the cost.
