Class Mates – Most of my class mates work in the professional world so they are professional in class. This makes class very interesting. We learn a lot from others such as their field of work. The classroom discussions get quite lively at times which also makes for a great learning experience. There are quite a few questions that are asked by everyone so it is not just a question and answer assignment that is turned in by everyone. It is a discussion post/classroom.

The resources at Walden are wonderful. The students are always notified if and when the site is going to be down for maintenance. This usually takes place in the wee hours of the morning. When there is severe weather in the area of one of the campus locations, a message is sent out to all students and faculty. I have never had to use the student/tech support but some of my classmates have and they have the best to say. The tech support people were right on the issue and resolved the issue very quickly.

A Lot Transferred – After having served in the U.S. Navy for a period of 18 years, I had a lot of military work/life skill credits transfer to Walden. I also had credits transfer from a technical institute transfer in my chosen field of study which makes it a little easier to finish school. The flexibility of my classes is another plus. Taking classes online allows me to still work as well as attend class. I am able to attend class on my schedule, not someone elses. My academic advisor is always just a phone call away should I need them. They are always ready and willing to assist me with my class registration/choices. I get advice from them that best suits my field of study. The folks at Walden are simply put there for the students. It's a great place to study.

Online Review – The online facilities are very easy to navigate making getting around campus very easy--user friendly. Everything is laid out with simple to follow instructions. Student support/tech support is always available if there are ever any problems. I have been attending Walden University online for about two years and couldn't be happier with the campus, the academic team, financial aid advisors and my instructors. All are very eager to assist the students with any questions, any time. Students have accessibility to the staff that they need to be in contact with all the time. It's a great university if one needs to continue to work and desires to start or finish their education online. Best decision that I have made!

The online courses here at Walden University helped me to get into reasearch studying, also it allows me time to write my books. I I also learned how to prepare for publishing through proposal writing. The faculty is very helpful, and the students are great to talk to in chatroom discussion. We help each other through our expertise in specializations.

So Far So Good – My major is a little too hospital focused. I wish it incorporated other areas of health services more in the examples and in the resources.

So Far So Good – Walden is a good school for someone who is a self directed learner. Depending on the course and instructor, the interaction with the professors can vary from next to nothing to a great deal. Some instructors are slow to respond to questions and are slow to grade assignments. Overall, however, the instructors are good and provide good feedback. The classes present information in a good format. The use of video content to enhance learning is awesome. I certainly feel like I learn something from each course.

I haven't had any problems with the student body, the students come from a wide range of backgrounds. Every one is very respectable of each others ethnicity.

Professional and Integrateve – The professors seem to be very knowledgeable and helped students progress in a proactive manner.

Most Work Fulltime – I do feel that the student body works hard and most have jobs besides like me.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Does Not Manage Funds Appropriately – I feel that the financial aide department has given me too much money at times and should have spread it out more appropriately.

Have Not Graduated – I am a little disappointed in the advisement at Walden, they have changed the way they support students, however, I feel that I have taken some courses that were not necessary for my degree.

Counselors Are Wonderful – Any questions I have are always answered promptly.

My counselor has been very helpful every step of the way. Being an online school, it's easy to get lost in the crowd.

The claasses at Walden allow students to bring life-experiences into the classroom, which facilitates active learning. The students are able to use newly applied knowledge to their work enviroment

Career Center – Walden offers students to network, which opens many doors and job opportunities

Rigor Is Not Lost Online – Although online courses are often ridiculed for being easy, thats not true at Walden. The courses are as difficult or more so, than in a traditional setting. Yet, all the information is extremely relevant and applicable.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Although the quality of education is great and worth the price and the people in the financial aid office are friendly and helpful, there are not enough scholarship opportunities for existing students, nor are there any possible work-study options for the online students.

Professors Are There but Not There – The online professors are there, but they are not active enough. One or two words does not indicate to me if I am getting the material or not

I'm a counseling major and for this program to be so important and have a huge impact on my becoming licensed in Texas, I do not feel prepared. It's seems that after completing half of the program, there is still something lacking.

Challenging but Fair – As a student in the Doctor of Education (EdD) program, the coursework is a challenge but can be accomplished with effective time management and dedication. Dispite my 4.0 GPA, all of the professors do not hand out easy A's. The grading is usually quite fair and in line with the established criteria (i.e. the rubrics are layed out and followed, there is an even balance of objectivity and subjectivity).
If you enroll in this, or any, doctoral program, assume you will be challenged and required to put forth quality effort.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
