Everyone's Computerized – Walden University is an online based school so I dont have the pleasure of knowing any of my classmates face to face. I've taken well over 3/4 of my required classes and each time I log into a new class we are able to tell the others about ourselves. There are many people from all of the world, I often feel I'm the only person living in California who attends this school. I've had the pleasure of exchanging phone numbers with many of the other students and getting to know them outside of the classroom. Each class seems to be diverse enough from the discriptions I read of each student. Everyone seems to get along and work together when needed, I enjoy it very much.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Worth Every Penny, Just Wish There Where More. I've been attending college since I graduated high school in 2002. I wish I knew then what I know now about financial aid because now that I've found a great school and the right major, I've run out of financial aid. Everyday there is a new rule about this type of aid or that type. I feel like that isn't any thing that Walden can do because they are following what rules are set forth by the student aid commision and who ever else makes up the rules. I do hate however that Walden does not offer private loans through the school or scholarships for students working on their BA. It makes it more difficult for someone like me who has to support a family on a tight budget and manage to still pay the tuition each quarter if I want to finish school.

Information and Innovation – The staff are very effective at assisting in crafting resumes and cover letters. They were helpful in advising. They assisted me in interviewing tactics. The online library is nice. All students in my class are friendly and informative.

Strictly Online Classes – I do not go to Walden's campus. I strictly do everything online. I have never been to the campus so I do not know how the computer labs and printing access are run or how well they are monitored.

Excellent University for Continuing Your Education – I have really enjoyed going through Walden University to complete my Master's Degree in Education. I like how they have set up all of the classes in the order that you need to take them. Everything is done online. I really love how they ship the books directly to your home and that the books are included in the cost of the classes. Everyone has been very helpful including teachers and my academic advisor. The are continually providing online tools and workshops to attend at no extra charge. The school sends out notifications for any updates within the school. I feel that this is an excellent university and I am glad that I decided to become part of the experience.

As an online university, this is kind of difficult to gauge, but based on discussion groups it seems fairly diverse, hardworking, and committed to education.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Walden does not offer scholarships based on academic achievement, which is the only thing I would change. I think it is very affordable though and worth the money paid.

On Line School-Perect Fit – The classroom experience format is straightforward and an easy to follow method- The work material is difficult to manage however, the insight and material I am learning is enabling me to be a better teacher in my work environment. With the health challenges I have facing me, On-line schooling allows me to pursue my goal of a Bachelors degree program.

Online Learning – My experience thus far has been good. My major weakness is the discussions. Being new to the online environment it is difficult to hold discussions in this manner and i find myself falling back in this area. Otherwise i have no problems or complaints.

School Uniqueness – I am an online student, i have not had the personal experience of attending the school physically as yet.But thus far i would say the quality of work and the way that the faculty interact in making this experience worthwhile is something that sets it apart from other schools.

Love Online Classes, but There Are Some Things to Be Aware of. The online enviroment has been great as a student, especially as a working adult. Assignments are due by midnight on certain days of the week and are all clearly outlined in advance. Interaction with other students varies depending on the course, but typically there is a weekly discussion topic and most courses have small group projects.
At Walden the undergraduate classes are six weeks long. It is nice to focus on a single class for six weeks and then move on, but you cannot get behind. Time management is important and I've found it is important to schedule schoolwork for each day, even if it is just reading textbook chapters.

Online Schools – During the online experience one has to be more of an independent learner because there are no lectures or note taking. You are assigned your readings for the week, you have to read them and then be able to apply and understand what you read on your own because there is no lecture to explain the course material. You have to e-mail back and forth with your professors, and they may not be able to answer you immediately. In the case of my major at my school I strictly do discussion posts and write papers so I do not have tests to study for.

I am happy with my choice of school. While the online school experience is not for everyone those who cannot go to a traditional four year university or those who have tried traditional schools and do not like them would like Walden University.

Bumpy Road – In the beginning stages, there are bumps and curves that one needs assistance navigating through. Some of the customer service individuals give the distinct impression that they would rather be do anything else but helping you. There are some good ones, but it only takes one bad apple to cast a shadow over the whole dept. I call them because I need help, not to hear them yawn or talk to each other.
