The professors at Walden University have supported continued learning through excellent communication in the classroom discussions, assignments, and concerns. The curriculum challenges me to continue quality research, scholarly writing, and leadership opportunities. The advising team has provided the information needed to make wise choices in course load and the time constraints of an online study program. Through Walden University's staff, I have excelled in my public administration program. Walden University has prepared me to excel my legal career and improve advancement opportunities that benefit my community.

Have Not Had a Chance to Experience This Yet. I have not had a chance to experience this yet, but by reading stories on the mywalden page, I think the alumni network is very well useful in making connection with former graduates.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Need More – Walden is very helpful when it comes to financial aid however, I am out of the Federal allowable funds.

Walden requires the students to attend residencies. I feel this is an excellent opportunity to network and learn.

Walden has a proven history of quality education and has been accredited by the North Central Association of College and Schools since 1990. Walden is also highly regarded in the education community. Walden has recently been awarded many honors such having their educational programs ranked number one in 1996 by U.S. News and World Reports. Another great honor came that same year to a 2005 Walden graduate when Dr. Michaela Celeste Cole was awarded the Merrill/Prentice Hall and NAECTE Outstanding Dissertation of the Year Award from the National Association of Early Childhood Teacher Educators. This is a rich and successful history that I would be honored to become a part of. The courses offered in the Doctorate of Psychology program provide a specific curriculum that has been developed to provide the prospective student with all of the necessary tools to become a productive and well educated member of the collegiate community. The education, research tools and professionalism gained from Walden can provide an invaluable background for the prospective student. An added benefit of Walden is the online environment. As a working father of six wonderful children I would personally find it nearly impossible to work 60 plus hours a week and balance an in class commitment. It is also unlikely that my current employer would work with the stringent schedule required by traditional education. Walden is a unique combination of quality education and convenience.

I have taken both online classes and traditional classroom. I prefer the online classes because I am not committed to attending school on a certain day. I am able to manage my time and do the class work when I have time.

Some of the unique things about Walden University is the amount of time the academic counselors and teachers spend with each student. They are very dedicated and willing to help their students.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The financial aid office and employees have been a tremendous help with the process of receiving financial aid. I am getting a good education for the amount of tuition that I am paying. I do wish the school would offer more scholarships for the graduate level students.

The flexibility provided from the online classroom setting allows me to work full time at a maximum-security prison, be a father and a fiance, while maintaining an above average GPA

Tuition & Financial Aid:
No Issues YET – I have completed 2 tours in Iraq, I work full time, and I am in the process of getting married. I used the majority of my GI Bill to pay for my bachelors degree which I completed in 14 months. The issue I have is, being a single father, a homeowner, and attending class full time, I find it interesting that I am not eligible for any grants. By no means am I financially set, yet there is a certain income number that they take into consideration, instead of situations.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The tuition and finacial aid process can be staright forward at times but can be quite complex as there is no face-to-face interaction.

The career services department at Walden University is a major asset to students. It is important that the student be willing to seek a career and use this service as an enhancement. This department provides students with lists of potential employers in the field they have chosen in their state. Since this university is virtual, students must put forth the effort to find employment.

The residencies in the M.S. program are phenomenal. For my second residency, I chose to go to Hawaii. Students had to develop a mental health plan for a risk population in Hawaii. I learned that even though Hawaii is a beautiful place, it certainly has some of the same issues that we see everyday. I was grateful for the experience and the opportunity to learn about other cultures.

Walden University is a school that believes in the scholar practitioner and applying the knowledge gained from courses to everyday life. It has been a privilege to find a school that recognizes the importance of academics. The courses offered in the M.S. in Mental Health Counseling program are dynamic and encourage the student to find the deeper meaning behind social issues. This university promotes social change and this motto is embodied throughout the theme of the school. The best part about this university is the chance to travel abroad for residencies and meet fellow students. It has been a very positive experience.

A Little Tricky – I was a little nervous about taking online courses, but it was pretty easy once I got used to it. Plus, it was nice not worrying about commuting. The workload became challenging when in the upper level classes, but I overcame those obstacles. I really learned how to manage my time in the online environment. Always be vigilant to ask the Financial Aid department about your financial assistance. The school's counselors and system advises you to apply even if the financial aid is not available. With the quarter based system, this process can be a little tricky.

I Am Satisfied With My Choice – I like my school. I don't have that typical college `pride' in it like other people have, but Walden is giving me an additional education, which is all that matters. I haven't really attended many events or school functions, but that's not why I'm here. As long as that diploma is on the horizon, I'm happy with my school experience

Since Walden is online, I really had no idea what resources to expect. I was pleasantly surprised and the awesome online library they have as well as the fact that through an inter-library system it was still possible to obtain books and other media from walk in libraries near by. Also the academic advising team is amazing at getting back to you almost immediately with any questions. There is also an online Writing Center where you can get assistance with papers and APA style if needed, although I've never actually needed to use the services.

One of the best things about my program at Walden was that it automatically registered me each term so there was no hassle trying to remember to enroll in classes. The curriculum in each course was clearly laid out and the workload seemed pretty standard. There were times when I felt frustrated at slow feedback from certain professors, but thankfully this was not always the case.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
