Warren Wilson is packed with beautiful people—there’s no doubt about it. It’s not a matter of being well dressed or practicing obsessive hygiene. Men and women here have a habit of exuding health and happiness, which means that we’ve all got a bit of a glow about us. Wilson strives for gender equity and embraces those of all genders and sexualities. You are more likely to find a partner if you bring respect and intelligence to the table rather than just a hot body. Of course, plenty of people come to Wilson entirely uninterested in relationships or sex, and that choice is supported as well.
There certainly is something here for everyone. Some new students meet their mate immediately and fall in love, while others favor free love and hookups they met at a party. The personal uniqueness and great variety of habits, dress, and interests means that you’re always falling a little bit in love with someone awesome, even if that doesn’t result in a relationship. Partners are found on work crews, classes, from mutual friends, and pretty much in the same ways that people in the “real world” find love. Students Speak Out

There's a huge variety of people...
There's a huge variety of people here, not just the stereotypical hippies (though there are plenty). You can find people like you to mingle with, but don't be discouraged if you don't find them right away. Most people are very respectful of who you are and what you're about. There are always a few jerks, but overall I was really impressed with how welcoming, outgoing, and friendly an environment Wilson is. The women are great, but don't wince when you see hairy legs or armpits. Natural is sexy.

You'll find a lot of different...
You'll find a lot of different kinds of people and a whole lot of pseudo-hippies and punk kids. There are lots of fine women, but remember that feminism is rampant. Most guys have strange masculine complexes, but it's generally with a sense of humor.

A friend once said to me that she is an "equal opportunity lover." The students at Wilson are gay, straight, or anywhere in between. Every one is open and friendly about sexual orientation. The average student is white, middle class, hippie-type, home grown, creative, active, and sustainably minded.

I've been a student at three different colleges and never seen such a high concentration of gorgeous women. My friend, who went to two bigger colleges, asked me after a few days, 'Where do you hide all your ugly people?'

Social Scene
WWC produces a tightly knit community. It doesn’t take long for most of the faces around campus to become familiar, and it tends to be easy to find a smaller group of friends that feels like home. While drugs and alcohol are as much of a presence as in any group of young people, all forms of entertainme here.
Hookups or Relationships?
Both happen at WWC. College students will be college students, so drinking and hookups occur here at similar rates to other schools. However, plenty of students meet their partner freshman year and stay together past graduation. Wilson alumni love to have their commitment ceremonies in the beautiful and peaceful formal gardens. Wilson students (post-freshman year, at least) appreciate people who make an effort to get to know you as a person before pursuing a sexual relationship.
Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls
The easiest places to meet potential mates are in classes, on your work crew, or on service trips. Less long-term partners can be found at parties, and you might meet someone in Asheville, completely outside the Wilson bubble.
Dress Code
Students at WWC have all sorts of styles when it comes to attire, although there is a tendency to dress down. Rugged outdoorsy gear is popular among the forestry and farm kids, while everyone enjoys Carhartts and plaid flannel at times. Paisley dresses and tie-dye are favorites, but it is not uncommon to see some Abercrombie & Fitch floating around. Clothing tends to be more practical due to the school's mountain location, and most everyone appreciates a humorous outfit.
