Warren Wilson is packed with beautiful people—there’s no doubt about it. It’s not a matter of being well dressed or practicing obsessive hygiene. Men and women here have a habit of exuding health and happiness, which means that we’ve all got a bit of a glow about us. Wilson strives for gender equity and embraces those of all genders and sexualities. You are more likely to find a partner if you bring respect and intelligence to the table rather than just a hot body. Of course, plenty of people come to Wilson entirely uninterested in relationships or sex, and that choice is supported as well.
 

There certainly is something here for everyone. Some new students meet their mate immediately and fall in love, while others favor free love and hookups they met at a party. The personal uniqueness and great variety of habits, dress, and interests means that you’re always falling a little bit in love with someone awesome, even if that doesn’t result in a relationship. Partners are found on work crews, classes, from mutual friends, and pretty much in the same ways that people in the “real world” find love.

Two Words: Unclean Hippies

It's true. Most of the people here, while nice people who will help you if you need it, are generally not as clean or as well-dressed as society bids average. If you enjoy dreadlocks, ripped clothes from Goodwill, and laid-back people, then dating here will be great. Almost everyone on campus identifies as bisexual at some point, too.

Same Difference

Most people here think they are different and try to stand out. We have the classic hippies who go shirtless and barefoot with their dreads. A lot of guys are in pretty good shape and many girls are stunning. It all depends on your perspective.

There's a huge variety of people...

There's a huge variety of people here, not just the stereotypical hippies (though there are plenty). You can find people like you to mingle with, but don't be discouraged if you don't find them right away. Most people are very respectful of who you are and what you're about. There are always a few jerks, but overall I was really impressed with how welcoming, outgoing, and friendly an environment Wilson is. The women are great, but don't wince when you see hairy legs or armpits. Natural is sexy.
