Unique

This college is very unique because of how dedicated it is to environmental and social justice. We have lots of hippies and anarchists and other fun people. Everyone has really strong opinions and they are driven to make a difference.

Green to the Grave

This campus is Green down to our school colors. We are very diverse and have an AMAZING study abroad program. We are a work college and our uniqueness comes from the Triad: Work, Service, and Academics. We are required to work 15 hours a week on campus, have 100 hours of community service volunteer work over the course of your 4 years here, and work hard in your academics. With our amazing teachers and programs your studies are easy, and with your teachers having a firm belief in hands on learning your service hours should be finished in no time at all. As for working, there are a wide variety in jobs you can apply for or switch to if you aren't finding your time in that job to be the best. As a community we are proud to be Owls and support each other as a family to help get through just about anything.

What They Tell You Isn't True.

I am not cynical. This is really what the guides don't tell you:

-The academics here aren't challenging, and kids aren't motivated to do much other than smoke pot or make hemp necklaces.

-Many people don't shower, so bring your gas mask.

-If you aren't the most environmentally conscious person ever, people here will look down on you--hippies are just as pretentious as WASPs.

-The music and theater programs here are lackluster.

-Fun activities are few and far between.
