The weather don't really effect many activities as long as you are already on campus.

Guys & Girls:
Most of the guys here are stuck up and have no interest in most girls on campus. Except one night flings.

If you do not live on campus then you might have a difficult time finding a reliable bus route to and from classes.

The Rec center at the campus it a great organized place to workout with friends.
College Sophomore 2013-11-20T02:45:00Z
They have plenty of places to get together and socialize with new and old friends.

The only places open for late night business are either really expensive or they are cheap and nasty like McDonalds.

My roommate and I had a lot of difficulty getting our devices hooked up to and staying connected to the internet when we first moved into the dorms.

I am not a greek and I am not treated any different. I also have no interest in joining.

I am not 21 and I do not drink. The nightlife as an underage is fine for me though because I just study and play pokemon with my roommate.
College Sophomore 2013-11-20T02:21:15Z
I have had many other peoples mail put into me mail box and it really frustrates me. Also, as a sophmore I have first pick on a dorm spot and I got the complete opposite of what I asked for.

I feel like this campus is mostly accepting of all people on campus. I do not like to get into political or religious debates though. People get pretty heated.

I don't dine out much but when I do I can usually find the best option. I usually go by price because things aren't cheap now days.
College Sophomore 2013-10-11T16:55:51Z
The food on campus is pretty good but nothing really exciting. You get plenty of food with your portions but there's a pretty generic selection of choices. On the plus side, there are a lot of dining options off-campus that aren't too far away.

Topeka is a pretty big city. There is always a lot of things to do in topeka. The only problem is it really isn't a college town. Most people go to Lawrence or Manhattan on the weekend if they want the college experience.

On campus, there are designated smoking areas that most people go to when smoking a cigarette. No drinking happens on campus to my knowledge, or that I see. But i know that off campus drinking and alcoholic activities happen quite a bit.

The places on campus are average for eating out at they don't have a lot of variety but keep you from going hungry

The drug scene at Washburn University isn't huge at all, maybe in the areas surrounding campus. But I have never seen use of drugs on campus

Varsity Sports at Washburn University are fairly huge, but not everyone attends. We have a wonderful workout facility with personal trainers but could use a little more equipment.

I did not have any complications in getting into the Respiratory Therapy program. I had to submit an application for the Respiratory Therapy program itself as well as to Washburn University. I had to submit official transcripts from Holton High School and Highland Community College. I also had to submit Letter of Recommendation and Letter of Intent. The Respiratory Therapy program only accepts the top 18 qualifying applicants. Decisions are based on academic record (grade point average and college level courses completed with a "C" grade or better), letter of intent, letters of recommendation, past work and volunteer experiences

Washburn has students of different origin. In the one on campus class I am taking there is a diverse group of people but we all get along great and everyone is accepted and very helpful.
College Junior 2013-09-14T13:45:41Z
This is my first semester with Washburn and I haven't had any obvious connections with anyone from a frat or sorority. If I was to become friends with someone from a frat or sorority house I would not attend any of the parties due to me living out of town and having a family at home.
College Junior 2013-09-10T13:55:56Z
Majority of my classes are online so I rarely travel to campus

I recieved financial aid but jad many problems along the way. Even after I accepted everythig, something happened and it reset my amount and all and I wasn't told about this. It's a good thing I went and checked it a few days later and luckily the week my tuition was due everything got cleares up.

It is very hot in the Fall; very cold in the Winter. It just depends on your preference while in class. It is usually freezing in the classrooms in Morgan and blistering hot in Henderson. The buildings have their own seasons. Haha.

Health & Safety:
As a student at Washburn University, I have not seen or heard of any crime on campus, but what the school police/ security does is they print out a chart that has every type of crime with the number of occurrences of such crimes. Police are constantly patrolling campus seeing what activities are taking place and always approaches to get information or just to chat.
As for health measures, the school health services are fantastic. Free to students (at least included in activities fees) and provide timely services.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
