Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

While some students may spend the week of finals cursing all of their classes and wishing that graduation would just get there already, after a couple of months in the real world, most alumni wish they could return to their good old days at W&J. The four years spent at W&J are undeniably difficult, but they are years well spent. W&J changes its students, and most leave completely different from how they came in. Even those who continue on in the career they have always dreamed of will leave with new interests and a new perspective on that career.

Over the years, W&J has changed and improved the experiences that students can have on campus and around the world. Students are able to do independent research with the multi-million-dollar laboratory equipment in Swanson, speak with professors who have taught in other countries, or take a trip halfway around the world to study another culture. If you come to W&J wanting to get involved and take advantage of all the opportunities offered, then there is no doubt that you will get a fantastic education and have terrific experiences. However, if you come and just want to stay on campus and stick to your normal routine, you will still get a fantastic education but just might not benefit from all the college has to offer.

W&J offers chances that larger colleges or universities could never offer. Most students have dinners with the president, deans, or different professors a few times a semester, and successful alumni are always happy to help out students with career advice. While there may be other colleges that match W&J in academics, any current student will tell you that there is no comparison to the experiences that you will get outside of the classroom.

Perfect Fit.

I love W&J. I grew up around Penn State and knew I didn't want to go a school like that. Here at W&J, I feel close to my professors and if I wanted to change something, there are multiple ways to do that. We take student surveys a lot about food and what campus can improve on. I can also wake up for a class 5 minutes before it starts and make it to my class on time. All of the housing options are in amazing proximity on campus. Some people say the school is too small, but Pittsburgh is only 30 minutes away and W&J provides free transportation to Pittsburgh on weekends so students can go there whenever we want for a change of pace. I love it here at DubJay

I <3 College

I am going to miss college. I have been able to have a very wild social life. When I graduate I will not be able to be as care free as I have been able to now.
