Not at All

You won't get busted unless you are blatantly being drunk.

Open to Public

Greek Life is very open to the campus first semester. All students go to greek street on the weekends regardless of affiliation. Second semester is quieter as fraternities begin the pledging process and parties are generally closed. Greek Life is also actively involved in community activities and host many philanthropy events.

Financial Aid at W&J

As far as general aid goes, I had no problems whatsoever. There were some problems with my work/study funding once I got a job as an RA, but they were quickly solved with either a phone call or an in-person meeting. The system could use small adjustments.

Not Overly Strict

School policies are enforced when there is an obvious breach. However, there aren't officials going out of their way to find any breaches, so when an individual gets in trouble for doing something wrong, there is a high chance that they were doing something seriously wrong or being really dumb about it. Parking enforcement fines are the only point where the school's policies are out of hand.

Academics

Professors are very knowledgable, workload is strenuous but managable, we work hard and play harder.

Some Options

You have a few options for nightlife at W&J. If you don't want to drink, you can hang out at Monticello's, head into Pittsburgh, go see a movie at a local theater, etc. For those who want to drink, you can go to the fraternities, go to a bar in town, drink in your room with friends, go into Pittsburgh, or a combination of any of these options. The fraternities are generally laid-back and welcoming and some of the themed parties can be a lot of fun. Parties used to be more fun back when the Greeks were in the Quads and fraternities could have large "registered parties" in their very own party rooms. Those were the good ol' days.

Safe

I feel safe on campus. I think that our campus security does a good job keeping everything under control.

Decent

The food here gets a little old after four years, but there are always those favorites that I look forward to in the Commons. Meal plans are reasonable and there is always dozens of choices -- it's just a matter of what you like. The staff, for the most part, is very kind and respectful and overall it's a good experience.

Parking on Campus

I feel that having a car on campus is not exactly necessary, but it is definately a great convenience. There is not a lot to do within walking distance so its great to drive to other places, such as downtown Pittsburgh, to find something to do. A shuttle is provided to a shopping center during the week, but only for short periods of time so it's rather inconvenient. Parking is free which is great and availability of parking spaces is good, however, the parking lots themselves are not exactly in convenient locations.

Dorms Are Okay

Overall Dorms at W&J are not bad. I think the cleaning staff in the freshman dorms did a better job cleaning.

Campus Strictness

W&J is not strict about anything but academics. They keep us to a rigorous academic pace, but outside the classroom, W&J treats us as adults, and does not restrict our behavior.

Off Campus Dining

There are several places to eat off-campus. There are really nice local restaurants, as well as popular franchises, and fast food.

WJ Facilities

The library at W&J is awesome! The reference librarians are so helpful, and the library is a perfect place to study. The athletic center is good too, with up-to-date equipment and long hours. Campus activities are great; it is very easy to get involved at W&J, especially with Volunteer programs.

Girls Are Hott

Most ladies are hott and/or attractive. This being said many have boyfriends. There are a variety of different female cliques to suit your fancy and interests. There are few campus sleazes that prowl around waiting for their next conquest, but for the most part girls here neither reserved nor sleazy.

Not Bad

Diversity is what you make of it. Find it and it will reward you. Avoid it and it will avoid you. My suggestion, meet some international kids, they're cool.

Campus security is really nice. They will help you if you need help with anything

Town of Washington

The town of Washington and pretty small. Most things are within walking distance but other things you have to drive too. Like you have to drive to walmart or target. The local businesses are really nice to the students. we get discounts at their stores and stuff like that

Good Balance

There is always things for students to do. The school offers the possibility to go into Pittsburgh and hang out, as well as live entertainment and activities on campus. There is always something to do when you want it.

Good Food

The food on campus is nice. It is much better compared to other colleges. There is a good variety of food options as well.

Perfect Fit.

I love W&J. I grew up around Penn State and knew I didn't want to go a school like that. Here at W&J, I feel close to my professors and if I wanted to change something, there are multiple ways to do that. We take student surveys a lot about food and what campus can improve on. I can also wake up for a class 5 minutes before it starts and make it to my class on time. All of the housing options are in amazing proximity on campus. Some people say the school is too small, but Pittsburgh is only 30 minutes away and W&J provides free transportation to Pittsburgh on weekends so students can go there whenever we want for a change of pace. I love it here at DubJay

Sports Aren't Everything

At W&J, the student body knows about sports events, and a lot of people go, but it's not like you HAVE to go. The football stadium is pretty packed usually and students of course get in free, but I'm not a big football fan so I don't usually go. When I have gone to games, they've been fun to watch but I don't feel overwhelmed by the sports scene on campus.

Free Milkshakes, Pool Tables, Awesome Couches = the HUB

The HUB is fantastic. There are huge floor cushions called Love Sacs and they are the most comfortable thing ever! The HUB has several rooms with large screen TV's and it's a very cozy place to hang out or study on the weekends during the day if no one is watching tv. In the basement of the HUB are several pool tables that you can play anytime during the week, foosball, and a ping pong table. On weekends, a room opens up in the bottom of the HUB called Monticellos. Monti's serves FREE unlimited milkshakes, nachos and cheese, pizza bites, and sometimes other cool snacks. There is usually a band or a singer in Monti's for people to listen to. The HUB is amazing. It's a 30 second walk from my dorm and although I don't visit it much during the week, I can usually be found there having an awesome time on the weekends.

None

You can't live off campus unless you are a commuter, but there really is no need to.

Awesome

Computers and printers are always available and printing is free. The wifi is poor in the dorms but fine everywhere else on campus.

Small Campus

Our campus is extremely small so there is really no need for transportation on campus. There is a weekly shuttle to shopping in the surrounding area's when needed.
