Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The first thing to do when settling into campus life is to find someone with a car, and if you already have a car, then that’s even better. Anything on campus and most restaurants in Washington are well within walking distance, but if you need to go shopping, then you will need a car. There aren’t really any forms of public transportation in Washington that students use. There is, however, the free shuttle service that the college offers.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, there are a few vans that drive students back and forth between the nearest shopping centers, Trinity Point and Strabane Square. These vans also drive students to different areas around Pittsburgh on Fridays and Saturdays. While this shuttle service is very beneficial, it is also nice to know someone who won’t mind giving you a ride when you need to get to the store on short notice. Although most students find that they don’t need to drive anywhere in their day-to-day schedules, except of course for those late-night fast food runs.

They only have transportation to Walmart and other shopping centers on certain days. And only transportation to Pittsburgh, which is relatively close, on weekends.

No Need

Parking on campus is free. The campus is so small that there is no need for transportation. There is a bus available for students who want to go into Pittsburgh on the weekends.

There are shuttles to and from Pittsburgh, the Mall, Walmart, etc. W&J is really good with that. There is a shuttle to the airport and now they are doing a possible shuttle to the bus station/train station!! The cost is minimal to free!
