W&L, the Washington and Lee University alumni magazine. This free quarterly magazine features a variety of articles on current students, happenings at the University, and faculty. It reaches about 30,000 alumni, parents, and friends of the University.

| Major Alumni Events | |
- The biggest events for alumni every year are Homecoming, which features raucous football games (plus a hearty tailgate lunch), crazy parties, and plenty of reminiscing; and Reunion, where the graduate class with the best attendance wins the Reunion Bowl.
- There is also Alumni College—alums can either go abroad on trips to places like France or the Galapagos Islands or come to campus for a combination of vacation and study on the Civil War, the historical Jesus, and Tom Wolfe’s Bonfire of the Vanities.

- Roger H. Mudd (Class of 1950) – Congressional correspondent (CBS, PBS) and History Channel host
- Lewis F. Powell Jr. (Class of 1929) – Associate justice on the US Supreme Court and president of the American Bar Association
