It gets boring from time to time, the activities needed improvement
Recent Alumnus 2013-11-15T02:48:45Z
It's just hardly used, I hardly see people use drugs, very strict rules
Recent Alumnus 2013-11-15T02:45:31Z
It wasn't the best, the transportation wasn't always on time, some apartments are not reasonable in cost

It was good because my school is an Adventist school, and being from another religion it allowed me to explore similarities and differences between my religion and the Adventist religion. It was a new experience for me.

There are a decent amount of places you go and eat. Whether you're in the mood to eat Chinese food or eat Pizza, there's always somewhere you can go and eat.

Since living here on campus, I really don't like it too much just because there a lot of craziness among the females. Most of these females can't wait to leave the nest. The two best things that I really enjoy are the closets and the dressers.

There are a lot of underage students that attend this campus. Since this school is an Christian Based institution, there are rules that need to be reinforced some are applied and some aren't.

Some unique things that are different that set apart other schools is that there are some teachers pray before starting there lessons. The teachers who have been where myself and others been there, and had to struggle to get where they are but they give us the encouragement to push harder and to never give up. Another thing that sets us apart from any other colleges is the Food. This campus is based on a Vegetarian based meal plan. Yes many complain but forget this is what you are paying for each semester.

If I had to describe the student life at Washington Adventist University, I would say it's a mixed bag. You never know what you're going to get. Some days they doing what they are supposed to do, but other days it's a train reck waiting to happen. There's no such thing as a perfect school, you're just there to get your education and get out with a piece of paper in your hand.

Guys & Girls:
The people at this school are some of the nicest most sincere individuals I have ever encountered in my life. I am not 7th Day Adventist, but coming into this school was a big relief compared to other schools in the area. Many are varied from moderate to very spiritual and this school is home to many different ideas and religious beliefs. I myself, am non-denominational Christian and was surprised to find at least 3 more students in my same nursing class under the same standing. Students are very friendly and "Christ-like". Everyone I have encountered are very nice and willing to help anyone in need. These are people who will help display and promote good morals and values.

The weather has been rather bi-polar lately. We are in a good area, though. Our winters are cold, but not as cold as others. Our spring of this past year was a bit chillier than others, but it wasn't unbearable. Usually the weather remains pretty faithful to the weather report.

I do not know much of the drug scene on campus. For the most part, I am sure there are students who participate in drugs as with all places. However, probably because the university is so small, I have yet to see or hear of anyone doing illicit drugs on campus. Off campus parties or clubs may be where most of the action is in this scene. But for the most part, I believe the campus is pretty clean.

Health & Safety:
Campus Security is always close by. I have not felt unsafe on Washington Adventist University. Although it is an open campus, the students are still safe to roam freely.

I received a good amount of financial aid, but it was not enough to cover tuition. I had to pay a lot of money out- of pocket.

I love being at this school simple because Washington DC is so close by. There are a lot of attractions, museums and historical places to visit. The school's environment is beautiful and healthy to begin your college career.
