You could walk to midtown and eat there.

There are plenty of places to eat downtown. If you dont have a car you can take a 5 minute bus ride and get on the people mover.

Detroit has a ton of restaurants with good food and a diverse selection. There is a pretty good selection right across the street from campus, where you can find Coney dogs, Mediterranean food, pizza, vegetarian options, and almost anything else you can think of! There are also plenty of restaurants downtown. Detroit is a culturally diverse city, so it offers pretty much any sort of cuisine you can think of. You name it, Detroit has it. The prices vary depending on where you go, but for the most part, they are reasonable for what you get.

The Potato Place, across the street from the Welcome Center, is popular; it serves practically anything on noodles or potatoes. The Olympic Grill is a classic diner with cheap food at cheap prices, while Hockeytown Café is more of an "upscale" pub. Cass Café is within walking distance of campus and has your average sandwiches and chicken fingers, albeit in a smoky atmosphere. Cheli's Chili and Hockeytown Café are popular during sporting events at Comerica Park and the Joe Louis Arena. Both restaurants are packed during these times, and parking can be pricey. Greektown is a little drive from campus, but it is home to Pizza Papalis, the best pizza in Detroit! If you are 21, Greektown also has a casino and you can use your comps at local restaurants.
