The campus creates a set of rules, and authorities are not afraid to enforce them. However, they are not "in-your-face sergeants," nor do they "bully" you to the point of perfection. They have a set of rules, they explain them, and they trust that you will abide by them. If caught, campus authorities will not hesitate to give you consequences, especially the RAs and Public Safety officers. Parking, dorm items, and behavior are some of the things to be careful of, as these tend to be the areas that are focused on the most. Some parking tickets can be up to $50, and illegal items within dorm rooms will be confiscated, too.
Parties are allowed on campus, as long as everyone at the party is 21-and-up and the volume doesn't get out of control. Cases dealing with underage drinking and drugs are cases that are dealt with severely and without a warning. There has been an instance where an underage drinking student was caught with alcohol within his or her dorm, and that student faced the severe consequence of being suspended from campus and being kicked off an athletic team. The best piece of advice is to be smart about the campus's policies, know what they are, and do your best not to get caught.
