College Prowler Take
Drugs are at Wellesley, just like everywhere else, and they can be sought after or ignored. Depending on where students hang out and who their friends are, some report never having smelled marijuana smoke wafting down the hall, while others see classmates toke up on a daily basis. Drugs that help people concentrate, from caffeine to Adderall and Ritalin, are both used and abused, but it’s hard to determine how widespread this practice is. So, it’s not likely that you’re going to stumble into the bathroom at a Wellesley party and find someone snorting coke off a mirror with a dollar bill, and it’s even less likely that people are going to miss class because they just can’t resist the “wake and bake.” On the other hand, the desire to conform to—or escape—academic pressure may tempt some students to pop an Adderall while writing a paper or smoke a little to blow off steam on the weekend.

All I know is that, yes, drugs do exist on campus. But from what I gather, it’s really only among a small, select group. I’ve also heard of drugs being taken to enhance academic performance but know almost nothing about that other than yes, it happens occasionally. |

I don’t see a lot of it, but I know certain dorms are known for ‘attracting’ the few druggies we have. I hear that a lot of people try more recreational drugs on occasion, and I’m sure a lot of people here are on uppers and downers of some kind (prescribed or not). |

Pot, coke, and Ritalin seem to be the biggest drugs on campus. People are pretty quiet about their drug habits, but drugs definitely do exist at Wellesley; it’s just not part of the mainstream social scene. |

There is none, because everybody is so anal and willing to report any sort of foul play on campus. |
