| Advice on Finding a Job/Internship | |
Wellesley has tons of resources to get you jobs, internships, and fellowships. Get hooked up with the Center for Work & Service (CWS) as soon as you can, and take advantage of their programs and library. The CWS also holds on-campus job fairs and recruitment programs every year, so sign up for their weekly email notices. Take advantage of the CWS's Summer Stipend program, an excellent way to get job experience prior to graduation. There are hundreds of stipends—usually $1,500 to $3,000—to fund your summer internship of choice. Think about it: You can get paid to do what would otherwise be an unpaid internship in almost any field you'd like! There are also established internship programs in Asia, Costa Rica, and Africa in a variety of fields. It's also a good idea to get plugged in to the Alumnae Career Advisory Network, an online resource of 20,000 alums who are willing to share career information and advice. The Shadow Program allows students to trail alums to their jobs.
