False Advertising – Wellesley says that they meet 100% of students' need and are dedicated to small debts for students, but I have consistently had trouble paying for college. Though I do receive money from the college, I feel that they weigh certain factors (like parents' income before taxes) more heavily than others (like living cost of certain areas and high income/property taxes), which means my parents are going broke and I try to work as much as possible while still maintaining my grades in order to pay for my college. I try to ask for more grants every year, but the Fin Ain office only offers more loans as a solution. If I didn't love the school so much, I would have chosen a much cheaper state school.

The financial aid for Wellesley is based solely on need. So in return there isn't a whole lot of help with finding scholarships outside of the college and merits scholarships aren't offered from the college. The Office of International Studies is very helpful in finding scholarships for study abroad outside of the Wellesley College.

Poor and Making It – Even when my package my second year came up a little short, Wellesley listened to my reasoning and made all my troubles go away. Very much appreciated.

Financial aid is granted based on need. Personally found it fairly generous.

I do not receive financial aid, but from friends I have heard that the financial aid office has been very understanding of new circumstances and offered to increase their aid package.
