Advice

  • Check out the Career Resource Center as soon as you can. As a freshman, you’ve got three long summers ahead of you before graduation, and there’s no reason to let them go to waste. The sooner you start looking for opportunities, the more fascinating ones you’ll come across. Rather than flipping burgers, you could wind up in South Africa feeding the homeless or shooting an independent film in Paris. Who knows? The Career Center is a wonderful resource that far too often goes unutilized. Already thinking about employment after college? The Wesleyan Career Resource Center is the place for you. They offer one-on-one counseling on everything from summer internships to graduate schools to full-time employment after school. The face time with these career counselors is really the greatest feature about the Career Resource Center. Each student is treated as an individual with unique talents and needs. They can help you land all sorts of interesting jobs and, if you’re talented enough, maybe even a chance to write a college guidebook. Ha ha!
