WHC is unique from any other school in the fact that the academic advisors, instructors, and staff are very easily available.

I feel that West Hills College- Coalinga is a great college. I did not intend on attending WHC but I feel that it has been a blessing. The professors are usually easy to get ahold of, the curriculum is challenging in the most positive way, and over all it is a great school.

I feel that being a communication major at West Hills College-Coalinga is not a totally difficult task. I feel that the instructors that I have had, did in fact have a great deal of influence on me in regards to becoming a COM major. Because I have only been exposed to a brief amount of courses, I need to further my education to actually be able to feel confident in Communications. The workload from the two years of experience I have had, has been manageable. Once I transfer in the Fall I can only imagine it getting tougher.

I feel that the online classes that I have been apart of did a great job in giving the information needed and the proper instructions to create a positive, productive, work environment.

the staff is friendly and there's always someone there when you need help, but this college doesn't really offer the classes I need for my major which makes my chances harder when applying to transfer to a four year university

When people go to college they are faced with out many acquaintances. What sets this school apart is that it is a small school so everyone will eventually get to know each other and also there is a local "derby" which is like a small little carnival that comes to town every summer, and the college students get into groups and start clubs and sell things to the community and make even more acquaintances.

There are many computers available at the school. You can find over 25 computers in the library ready to be used. If they all happen to be in use, which hardly ever happens, you can bring your own computer and use the available Wi-Fi they have and complete your work without having to worry about anything.

West Hills Coalinga is a pretty great school but I find it to be a little big to plain and ordinary. Not much to do but there are some very good things about it. I like the fact that it has a community pool for everyone to thrive on. I also like the hang out place they have which is where college students go when they have time to just hang out and catch up with some friends.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I am currently a High School student so I'm balancing my regular high school work and on top of that online work for college. I know I am an A material student but things can get a little difficult at times. I am still in high school so I am not receiving financial aid at the moment which means I have to pay for most of my books and school supplies out of my own pocket. I don't mind paying those few bucks though because I know I'll receive it back in time once I successfully graduate from college and start my career.

There are not many jobs around and the ones that there are you have to have a 3.0 or higher.

Most students seem to be friendly, when help is needed you could be sure someone is willing to help. Our school has a variety of people from working part time jobs and going to school to going to school full time and its amazing how people can manage to work and get an education and some of these people have kids. I believe these kinds of people are here to make a turning point for the best in their life's.

Online classes are difficult a lot of reading, not knowing what to expect and more independent then a actual class on campus were you have the teacher in front of you and is easier to reach. The teachers tend to give us more work, at first i thought it would be easy but it was challenging for the fact of it being more independent.

The size of the student body makes it very easy to get into classes.

The campus has a low enrollment which makes the experience very laid back.

Everything Was Self Explanatory – During the orientation associated with my program the basics were laid out and explained as well as the expectations being in black and white. I felt the structure was made clear and I was able to understand and follow them

Psychiatric Technician Program – This program is specialized and the professors are knowledgeable of the field and associated possibilities. There are very few programs of this caliber availiable in California and this is one of the most prestigiously accredited. I believe that I made the right choice in attending West Hills because my learning knowledge is applicable and proven.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Follow up – The education I am getting is well worth the money it is costing. Financial aid has been very communicative in the needs I have to complete and making sure that I get all of the monies I am qualified for to help me achieve my degree.

Intense, Stimulating, Rewarding – I am a psychiatric technician major, the first term had a lot of knowledge, a lot of hours, but it felt very rewarding. The professors were very interactive and supportive which provided me with more drive to succeed. All of my classes pertained to the profession I am working towards and made me feel that I was in the right direction to accomplish my goals.

I have to admit that the student body at West Hills College is very Diverse. We have many students from Japan, China, Russia, and even from other states as well. Many are from Hawii, South and North Carolina, New York, even Pittsburg. The great thing is that we all seem to get along.

Nothing Like a Good Laugh – The online courses at West Hills Community College are a joke. They do not go as indepth as they need to on any subject. Also West Hills is constantly changing their online platform. So that once you learn how to navigate the site, and turn in your work, they are changing it to a new site, where you have no clue as to how to even access your online class let alone turn in your work. As for the online instructors, they might as well not be present, since they do not answer e-mail or phone messages.

The school is very diverse. There's several ethnic backgrounds, which is a really cool experience. The school also has various activities that make the international students feel at home.
