Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The drug scene at WVU seems to be almost nonexistent to the public eye. It can’t be said that students aren’t using drugs, but if they are, it is not made public knowledge. The substance most abused on campus is alcohol, which is easy to access. Students take advantage of it, sometimes taking it too far. There is alcohol at almost every party and of course in the bars. Tobacco is seen in abundance, too, whether it is because of peer pressure or personal choice.

Campus police say that the most common drug is marijuana, allegedly the cheapest and easiest to use. The students using marijuana seem to be doing it in the privacy of their own home because it is not seen very often around campus. The same can be said for harder drugs, which are not seen at all in public. There is always a chance for peer pressure, but there is enough of a non-using student body that students can feel comfortable saying no. The majority of students do not seem to be abusing drugs, so students should not feel embarrassed for saying no to peer pressure. Overall, the drug scene is not very prevalent at WVU, even with some minor alcohol abuse.

Drinking School but Anything You Want Is Here.

Kegs and natty light everyone. Easy for a minor to drink. House parties EVERYWHERE. Frats throw parties a lot and we also have clubs and bars but its a little bit harder to drink there. You can find a s*** load of weed. People also do ecstasy shrooms pills acid and molly but their in the minority. Still relatively easy to get if you know the right people but that stuff isn't out in the open like weed and alcohol. Although a good portion of people drink and smoke weed i don't consider it a problem. Nobody will ever pressure you into doing anything you don't want to do.

Considered Party School

West Virginia is considered a party school to most of the students here. There are students out every night of the week drinking and going to bars. There is not as much drug use that shows as much as alcohol, except smoking.
