Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The weather in West Virginia can be beautiful at times and terrible at others depending upon the season. There are definitely four seasons in WV, with summer and fall being the nicest times of the year. The summers are usually nice and warm with constant sunshine and the occasional rain shower. The fall is cool and crisp, and it creates great scenery when all the leaves start to change. The spring and winter are different stories, however. The spring can be a little cold, and it’s usually marred with rain. The winter is the most brutal season, however, as it starts in mid-November and extends all the way until March sometimes. Students are pelted with very cold temperatures, snow, and rain, making for an unpleasant time outside.

Students should pack clothes that can be worn in every season. It is especially important for students to bring clothes for hot weather, as well as layers and warm clothes for the extremely cold winters. Rain and snow gear is also very important. Cold weather and rain can put a damper on students’ attitudes because it can get so dreary, but the warm weather and nice scenery can help make up for it. One good thing about the winter weather is the great skiing and snowboarding that is available not far from campus. Students can get great rates and even rent equipment from the Student Rec Center. Another bad winter perk: every once in a while, classes are cancelled if the weather is inclement. This is a rare occurrence, yet can happen if a bad enough storm hits.

Can You Say Bipolar...

The weather in Morgantown seems to have a mind of it's own. One day it'll be snowing and then next it will be 60degrees and sunny. It all depends on how the morning starts off. I used to plan outfits a day in advance but I have learned that I cannot do that up here. It used to bother me when it came to school work but after 6 months up here I have grown used to it and it no longer affects me.

COLD

WVU is normally a very overcast and cold place. During the winters, it is VERY cold and windy! It also snows very often! But come spring, days get warm and enjoyable.

Weather in Morgantown

You never know what to expect in in Morgantown, West Virginia. The weather here always varies. Temperatures get as low as 23 degress and can rise up too 65 degrees later on in that same week. It also tends to rain alot. One thing you may want to bring when visiting is some rain boots and a umbrella. Althought there is always drastic weather changes in the city, during the winter when it snows... it really snows; and it gets COLD!!! I guess those are the perks of being near lots of mountains.
