Westmont is really strict when it comes to school policy and offenses. The authority figures on campus such as RAs, RDs, and public safety track down on students that break any of these rules. You should be wary of your choices to use drugs or drink alcohol, or even commit to any reckless behavior because you will get busted and the consequences will be steep.

As a Psychology major at Westmont, there are great opportunities that arise. The faculty in the Psychology department is very experienced in the field of psychology. It is helpful to know that our teachers are knowledgeable in what we are learning so that they can answer our questions with real-world experiences.

Westmont does a great of keeping most of the students on-campus. There is a limited amount of off-campus opportunities which makes it difficult to allow students to leave campus.

The drug scene at Westmont is barely noticeable, though it does factor into the type of people you hang out with. For the most part, you would not even know what drugs, if any, are present on campus.

Westmont College is a tough and rigorous school. With the challenging academics offered, along with the workload, Westmont does a great job of offering extra help after class whether it be through office hours, TA's, or student tutors. There is never a reason to feel confused with the multiple, helpful opportunities.

The shuttles are usually very reliable and get you to the beach, Vons, downtown, and the library. Dial-a-ride is the campus's transportation for going outside the bus lines or setting up a specific time to travel. Dial-a-ride is not helpful at all and can't be relied on.

The faculty in the Kinesiology department is superb! They are very careful about designing the major to be holistic because they have seen a lot of success of their students getting into graduate schools. They genuinely care about their students and their health and well-being. Classes are usually pretty interesting. I haven't taken a lot of kinesiology classes yet, but my peers rave about their professors and how great the classes are. The workload is a little more than other majors because it is required to take classes from different aspects of kinesiology instead of focusing on one specific track; this is the holistic approach. I like this approach because I feel more knowledgable and prepared to enter into any career in the health field.

The main issue is that the wireless internet is unreliable, if you have a wired than you are fine

The main difficulty in being in the Physics Major was staying on a correct path that leads to graduation. It is easy to graduate early if you make sure the academic advisor really analyzes your schedule and keeps you on track.

It's so small that the professors are on a one on one basis every single day! I'm pretty sure all three of the theater professors no most Theater majors by heart. They are really nice and answer most of your questions with great ease.

I came to Westmont thinking that the first semester of college will be somewhat easy....it was SO much harder than I thought! But hard in a good way, it academically challenged me to become a better student and manage my time well.

Westmont offers off-campus housing, but if you and a bunch of friends get together and split rent it shouldn't be too difficult to pay for your own place off campus.

Everyone who applies to Westmont is considered for merit based scholarships. Some scholarships are higher than others based upon SAT and GPA coming out of high school. Westmont will also give loans to those who have completed FAFSA and still require more money to pay tuition.

Westmont will not let first-year students have a vehicle unless they have medical issues. Never the less the school puts in a good effort when it comes to transportation by having a Westmont shuttle service on campus. Shuttles usually come around t their stop on the hour, however if you are on a crunch for time and need to be somewhere fast, you can call "Dial-a-Ride" and get picked up and dropped off outside of the shuttle service circuit.

Going into Westmont you sign a contract agreeing to their rules and regulations, so I guess I cant really complain. However, getting busted for doing illegal stuff on campus is not fun. It's mostly just a game of keeping any such activities on the down low.

It must be because the school is overlooking the ocean and Christian moral reinforcements, but the overall atmosphere at Westmont is pretty casual and laid back. State St. is the place to be over the weekends, and with a constant shuttle service from Westmont into town the school makes it very easy to blend with the city.

You couldn't ask for better weather. It rains occasionally but is mostly sunny and warm every day. Which makes is hard to study sometimes but nothing to complain about.

If you come to westmont you expect to not be able to do certain things, and for the most part I have come to really appreciate the rules.

I'm a chemistry major and for the most part my experience has been very positive. I have small class sizes, which means it's easy to talk to professors. It's easy to get into all my classes and they have prepared me for life after. Some drawbacks are some boring professors where I didn't learn squat, and some moments of unnecessary busy work.

Most of the time the weather is excellent the campus experience is excellent. You should however, expect one or two heat waves a year and 3~5 strong Santa Ana winds day. It is unpleasant to walk outside and can have a negative impact on the college experience.

Westmont is strictly a drug-free campus and they enforce it very well. There is about a 1 in 10 chance that you would encounter someone using drugs, let alone distributing drugs. However, it is not perfect and people who you would think live lives of integrity indulge heavily in drugs off campus.

Real estate is very expensive in Santa Barbara, but it's cheaper to live off campus versus on campus for the most part. I also give it this grade because the college itself tends to not treat its off-campus students very well. Parking can be tough on campus. Also Westmont only allows 200 students to live off campus so there are seniors who get screwed over and get stuck on campus.

I enjoy being in the Liberal studies program at Westmont. The department has put together little get togethers so that people can meet each other which I have appreciated and my advisor has made himself available which is good.

Being on the Westmont Cross Country team is one of the best experiences I have had. It encourages discipline, promotes competition, and cultivates friendships.
