I was intending to go for a major in psychology but because I was in high school I had to take a different route. Although, I will be graduating with a degree in Arts and Sciences, I still feel like I have been prepared by the psychology classes I have taken to get to the next step in my academic career at the next school. By doing the Arts and Sciences degree I could take a wide range of classes which I liked because I didn't have to take what seems like the same class over and over again. The workload was actually really light it seemed like just a lot of reading and writing and just doing exactly what your teacher has told you.

When I first started I did Running Start, which allows high school kids to go to the community college and earn their associates degree and high school degree at the same time. I only had one teacher that I felt like didn't really have a very good student-teacher relationship, but other than that the teachers are really good with being available for students. The on-campus resources were talked about all the time, whether by teachers or by signs in the hall ways.

The courses I have taken have been rigorous. Every professor has been excellent in providing additional resources.

I'm in the massage therapy program at Whatcom. 18 people are accepted into the program in the fall. Whatcom has a great reputation to prepare you for real world situations. Because my program is small and focused it is difficult for the class schedule to be flexible. But they are offering on-line and traditional classes for the course - so there is some flexibility. Love this school, the program and all the teachers I've met so far.

Whatcom offers both online and traditional classes. You can register online or in person. I've taken 2 classes so far - after 19 years being in the workforce. The grade above was for a on-line psychology class. This is my grade so far as I don't have the final grade yet. I loved this class, the professor, interaction with the other students. I had tons of fun and learned a lot. Great experience and great college !
