At Whatcom Community college we just recently switched all of our online classes so they are all held on Canvas. Canvas is a user friendly system that I really like. It is really easy to find current grades, see which assignments are due, participate in class discussions, and submit assignments. One feature that I really love in the grade book is that you can type in a grade that you think you may receive on an assignment and see how it affects your overall grade. This is extremely helpful when determining what grade you will need to get on a final exam or project in order to get the final grade that you want.

Convenience AND Quality. Because I live on a remote island, online courses are my only option. So, the courses at WCC are very convenient. However, I have found the professors to be engaging and passionate about their subjects, which creates quality coursework. Online courses are a lot of work, I study 2 hours/day per course, but I think my grades reflect the time I put into it. I figure I am paying for school, why not do my very best?

I have taken online courses before, and I felt like this experience was by far better than any other online course I've taken. The professor truly seemed passionate about the course, wanted to get to know each student in her class and the online testing & grading system was a breeze to work with and understand!

I had one one-line class this past quarter. It was a subject I really didn't like, but needed to take it. I wasn't sure what to expect when summer quarter started. The class was GREAT!! good interaction with the professor, students.

Make sure you have a PC! One of my online teachers teaches at UW. I took astronomy online and it has been amazing! Best class ever, I definitely recommend it.
