College Prowler Take
No matter what college you are at, there are going to be students who don’t think the food is bad and others who think it is horrible. Wheaton is no different. The College has two dining halls—Chase on lower campus and Emerson on upper. Most students say they prefer to eat at Emerson because the quality of food is better, but others like Chase because there is a lot more offered. In either dining hall, there are snack foods, such as chips, popcorn, cheese puffs, and Fritos. A meal plan is not required at Wheaton, but most students get it because the cost of food will add up otherwise. Every year, each student is given $75 to spend at the Loft, and the Café. The Loft is a late-night favorite, and students love their super nachos. But be careful because that $75 goes really fast. Overall, Wheaton seems to have better food than many campuses because of the variety offered and the unlimited amount of food you can have with the meal plan.

The food is above average in comparison to other college campuses I've visited. We have two dining halls that offer separate menus at every meal, and a café that offers a variety of hot and cold beverages, sandwiches, and salads. The food staff is very friendly and accommodating.

The food is good. There isn't much variety, but it is good quality at both Emerson and Chase dining halls. The Loft and the Café are both good alternatives. I love the meal plan, which allows me to eat whenever I want.

As much as people on campus love...
As much as people on campus love to complain about the food, I have yet to find another college that serves a selection of meals as large as Wheaton does. The food may not always be worthy of being someone’s last meal, of course, but as a whole, there is always a good selection: healthy options, vegetarian choices, and a friendly staff. |
