Health & Safety:
Public safety gives very frustrating parking tickets at times, but they do an excellent job of keeping students safe. The Health Center offers great services.

Because it is a small liberal arts school, the majors are limited, but what they do offer is very well crafted and organized. Workload is tough but worth it.

I am a Chemistry major, and it is great because in addition to the science classes I am taking for my major, I also get to take a lot of other classes that provide for a well-rounded liberal arts education.

I don't have a car on campus.

In order to go to Wheaton, one must sign the Community Covenant. This, of course, is your own choice. Signing the Covenant basically means that you want to live in a way that honors God. The rest of the rules are simply for safety.

I have not made much use of the transportation here as I've been walking around campus and seeing others walk or use their bikes, but I know that there is a shuttle on campus. Many churches shuttle on Sundays as well. Downtown Wheaton is within walking distance, from what I hear, and the train station is right around the corner.

Wheaton College, IL, is known for its high academics. The professors are extremely into their studies, and they have been providing challenging but doable work loads. They want us to learn and grow rather than do busywork.

Wheaton College is a Christian College, therefore the use of drugs and alcohol on-campus is prohibited. I've never seen anyone use drugs, but this doesn't mean that people don't do it. But overall the campus is fairly drug and alcohol free.

Students on-capmus usually came with their own computers. But the computers in the library were all upgraded to a macintosh system, which was nice. During crunch time though, computers and printers are usually occupied.

Guys & Girls:
I would say the majority of Wheaton's students are pretty good looking! Students dress well (even casually!) And as Wheaton attracts many like-minded students, many have similar interests. And Wheaton is known for its quality community, therefore the majority of students have a healthy social life and sincere relationships
College Senior 2013-08-12T05:11:55Z
Wheaton has many rules, but for a good reason. While many of the rules may seem ridiculous, they are really what make Wheaton the place it is, and what brings the sincere quality among it's community.
Many students complain about the rules (including myself! though not always verbally) But it should be pointed out that every student knew what they were getting into by coming to this school

As Wheaton attracts many similar students, it is only so diverse. Wheaton is a Christian school, therefore it is not incredibly diverse in terms of religion (although, students are diverse in their beliefs within Christianity)
This past year, I have become more aware of the sexual diversity of Wheaton's campus. Actually, I think the campus as a whole has as well, and it is great to see the level of support of love.
Since I have started attending Wheaton, it has grown in ethnic/racial diversity, but many students say they don't notice the ethnic/racial differences among people unless it is brought up or pointed out. Students are very accepting

Wheaton is the fantastic little town. You get the benefit of a small town with all the excitement of a big city. There is a train stop right behind the other side of our soccer field. Most students will head into the city on the weekend. Chicago has sooooo much to offer for everyone! The art institute, the chicago symphony orchestra, and of course Wrigley Field. Besides that there is the "magnificent mile" which has great shops including Nike Town and Forever 21. And Navy Pier is always fun. Wheaton really gives you the best of both worlds-the big city and a small college town!

Wheaton is primarily comprised of white students, however there are a lot of activities, clubs, and talk on campus about racial diversity and the beauty of it. As a school, they are working to become more racially diverse.

I'm from AZ so the weather was a shock to me but it wasn't that bad. If you get the right clothes-you will make it! Thankfully the campus isn't huge, so you just bundle up and walk a few minutes-which isn't bad. But fall and spring ARE BEAUTIFUL and make winter totally worth it!

Housing definitely gets better as you get older-but by no means is any of it bad. Freshman year I recommend Fischer-it's suite style rooms and there is GREAT community in that dorm! The BEST dorm on campus is a sophomore dorm (Mac-Evans)-it is in the middle of campus!

Best food around. We don't go out to eat that much because of the good food we already have here and it's already on the meal plan anyway.

Of course there is diversity at Wheaton, but it's almost nonexistent. the majority of students are upper middle class white people, and so there is a huge gap between those who have money and those who don't. Although noone is deliberately intolerant and most people are actually very loving. The powers that be at campus are very invested in people being educated about eachother's backgrounds, beliefs, etc.

I am very impressed with the music department here. The instructors are very dedicated to the students' education and everyone strives for excellence.

Diversity at Wheaton College is a hard topic to talk about because few people at the college actually know how to have a good conversation about it. The administration tries to promote diversity and to squash any sign of racial insensitivity or intolerance, but many are unwilling to admit that it is a problem. The student body has a small population of ethnically diverse students, and those students are singled out not only by the administration but also, at times, by their fellow students. Ethnic diversity within a personal friend group is nearly made into a project, it is almost an obligation. The school is trying to be an accepting place, but their efforts sometimes make being a minority more of a battle than it already can be.

Extremely strict. It is a dry campus and there should be no parties thrown on campus grounds.

You have to travel to the city to get any real choices. The village of Wheaton has few nightlife choices; however, the city is great.

Sports at Wheaton are popular, but not a priority. I loved going to games at my high school because there were always so many people attending, and everyone stayed the whole game no matter how well our team was playing. At Wheaton, football is not as popular of a sport to go to. The opening games are big, but attendance usually fades towards the middle/end of the seasons as students become busy with studying and other activities and as the weather got colder. Basketball is popular and draws a decent crowd, as well as soccer. A lot of sports teams create "super fan" sections for other teams.
Our sports/rec center and gyms are used frequently and are very nice. The equipment is fairly new and very clean. There is a pool, a hot tub and also a climbing wall.

All students receive $10,000 from the Wheaton Fund each year that goes towards their tuition. This money is a great help and is donated by alumni, parents alumni, and other supporters of the school. It is difficult, however, to get funds beyond this. There aren't a lot of scholarships to apply for because the school isn't funded by the state.
College Sophomore 2013-07-08T22:39:11Z
The weather in Wheaton is typical of the Midwest. Wheaton experiences all four seasons. The leaves are beautiful in the fall, it snows quite a bit, but classes are rarely cancelled, and it rains a lot in the spring.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
