Most Popular Sports
Baseball is the only sport with a die-hard following. Students would endure sleet and snow in hopes to see a Lyon hit a homerun. Other strong sports programs include soccer and lacrosse, though many of these athletes complain that they don't get the reception they deserve. While sports teams are strong at Wheaton and students are into staying in shape, the whole idea of walking to watch a sporting event is tiresome to most students.
Most Overlooked Teams
The tennis team has one of the best records on campus, yet there is hardly ever more than a speckle of spectators to be seen. In addition, the softball team feels very much left out compared to the love that the baseball team receives. Basketball, while the big winter sport, does not always receive a big turnout. However, that usually has to do with students not wanting to venture out into the cold rather than a dislike for basketball.
School Spirit
Wheaton students love their school for the most part. However, they do not show their spirit the way that large universities show it through athletic events. Rather, Wheaton students would rather be the participants in these events themselves. This can be seen in the very strong intramural sports program.

Best Place to Take a Walk
The three most popular walking paths are around the Dimple, around Peacock Pond, and around the woods by the far parking lot. Walking around the Dimple is for those who want a shorter stroll. The walk around Peacock Pond is pleasant, too, with many students trying to catch a glimpse of the famous Cow Duck swimming in there. The woods are the best place to walk before winter, but once winter hits, the trails are covered with snow. Only the brave dare to walk there after that!
