Fairly Good Financial Aid

Although I myself didn't receive financial aid, upon reflection I realize that this was largely my fault for not going through with applications. Whitman provides plenty of need based financial aid, as well as plenty of merit based scholarships to students of exceptional caliber. The only downside is maybe the competitiveness of the merit based scholarships: in an environment comprised of students who were all top of their classes in high school, it is at times hard to stand apart from the crowd. Otherwise, totally satisfactory.

Fairly Generous

Whitman will give scholarships to those who need it, but are often hesitant to do so. The college also seems to favor athletes in many cases, which is absurd for a Division III school.
