College Prowler Take

The overall experience reported by most Wilkes students is overwhelmingly positive. The outstanding mentoring environment, caring faculty, wide array of student activities, and some darn good academics overshadow the occasional blizzard and unfavorable happening on campus. The positive experiences had by students are backed up by Wilkes’s positive retention rate, the percentage of people who start and finish at Wilkes. This means that people like the campus enough to hang around, rather than transfer out. Homecomings are bigger and better than ever, proving that the Wilkes experience was so positive, alumni love coming back to visit—and donating to the school. Finally, many Wilkes graduates return for a second Wilkes experience through the acclaimed MBA program or one of the other fine master’s programs.

Hands-down, Wilkes is truly a school where undergrads get the full college experience. The campus is a beautiful place to be, a very green campus for an urban institution. The city of Wilkes-Barre has improved dramatically in the past few years, presenting tons of things for students to do off campus, but perhaps the asset most responsible for an overall positive experience is the mentoring environment fostered between students and faculty, students and alumni, students and administration and even students and students. At Wilkes, you feel truly cared about. And once you are gone, you are missed and remembered.

I transferred from West Chester University and am entirely satisfied by the change. The University is close knit, and I feel as though I have a personal relationship with the professors and faculty. Academics is key, and learning is exciting. I enjoy participating in extra curricular activities as a means of becomming more involved in my school. I have a great deal of pride in Wilkes University.

I wouldn't come to Wilkes if I could do it over again. I would like to have gone to a bigger school in a better city. It's great to have a small group of friends, but there is way too much drama, and everyone knows everything about everyone.

Overall, Wilkes is a decent school. I personally went to it to save money dorming elsewhere. If I did college over again, I'd probably make the same decision because the communications department is really good with all the extra curricular activities to get involved with.

Yeah, I would come here again. The people I have met and the relationships I have established with my teachers because of the small size of the University have made this an enjoyable place to go to school.

I would not come to this school again. While it was a great experience, I would prefer something larger.
