  1. On-campus parking limited
  2. Problem landlords abound off-campus
  3. Downtown crime close to campus
  4. City parking enforcement officers and some local businesses unsympathetic to student parking needs
  5. No 24-hour restaurants within walking distance 6. No on-campus help desk-- when no computer lab attendant on duty, must call Florida for paper refills

  7. Not many 18-and-over clubs; mostly all require 21-years-or-older ID
  8. Local cops target/watch off-campus housing (meaning busted parties)
  9. AC/heaters never mesh with Mother Nature-- classrooms always too hot/too cold
  10. While city leadership is making positive moves toward becoming a college town, there is still sometimes a clash between residents and college students; the stigma that "kids are troublemakers" lingers with some city elderly

Living on campus doesn't come cheap, with an average housing price tag of $6,880.

Most people at Wilkes University are white. But you also have Hispanics such as I, African Americans, some people are from Africa themselves, and there is a good amount of student from Saudi Arabia.
