Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

With its small class sizes, robust social life, warm community, and engaging professors, Willamette provides students with a very positive overall experience. Students come to Willamette and develop the passion and skills necessary to succeed in any career they choose.

While current students and even alumni will complain about the parking and lack of nightlife in Salem, most will have fond memories and strong relationships from their time at Willamette. They will remember late nights in the library, dinner at a professor’s house, late-night runs to Muchas Gracias, and the classroom discussions that shaped their worldviews.

Great

Academics are rigorous but overall a great experience. Everyone here is nice and welcoming. The teachers assign a lot of work but are willing to do all they can to help and meet outside of class. There are lots of resources to help one succeed.

Good

Dorms on the east side of campus tend to be a bit smaller and the ones on the westside a bit bigger. The apartments are really nice but unfortunately you can't get them until your junior and senior year.

Decent

There is usually something to do considering there is a number of bars and always some sort of house party. Nothing too crazy and Portland is about a 45 min drive if you wanna hit up the bigger clubs.
