Everyone I know on campus is on some kind of scholarship. There were merit scholarships given and you didn;t need to fill out extra paperwork, which is nice. They are really into giving out financial aid and work study. This school is very good for that. I, myself, am on a half scholarship which is a great relief, financially.

Great!

Many of my friends (as well as I) have some type of scholarship. Willamette really rewards scholarly students, and even though the tuition is high there are many opportunities if you need them or are willing to work hard. Monique is a great resource for grants and scholarships!

Generous Financial Aid

Willamette is very generous about offering scholarships and grants to students. The university has a strong network of alumni who donate thousands of dollars annually to support scholarships for current students here. Although Willamette is an expensive school, most likely you will receive enough financial aid that you will be able to come here without having to worry about excessive debt. Most graduates leave Willamette with less than $20,000 total in debts, which seems pretty reasonable to me considering the quality of the education and living environment here.

Advice on Financial Aid

While the total annual cost of attending Willamette is fairly expensive at nearly $50,000 a year, the generous amount of need-based and merit aid offered to students makes Willamette a very affordable university. Every student who applies to Willamette and submits the FAFSA form is automatically considered for both merit- and need-based aid. The average need-based aid package is $32,000, which brings the total cost of attending Willamette drastically down. Do not let the sticker cost of Willamette scare you away; the generous aid system at Willamette makes a Willamette education possible for students of any socioeconomic situation.
